Not picking on you Rameumptom just did not know who to bounce off of:p No, :Hell" was not created for people. People were never meant go to "Hell". Sorry:D Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:. . . But stuff happens:eek: Isaiah 5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! Isaiah 5:12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands. Isaiah 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Isaiah 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. Bro. Rudick

Working in Scouting. With the youth and with the Scout leadership. As a Sunday School Teacher. Taking care of the Church grounds and building. Talking with visitors. Working in the library. Anywhere the Lord wanted me to work. In most places I was found gifted to the work. Some say I can carry a fair tune singing, butchering a song using a guitar as an accomplice. Yes, I did some time in the R.C.C. along with most of my family. I come from a long line of Catholics. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from the time I was 12. Even though I was a Deacon at 13 And the office of a Teacher at 14, I got "Saved" when I was a little over 18. And not called to the Office of Priest til I was almost 20. Don't mean much to you I am sure but there is a story in there. I Love the Lord Jesus Christ. I Love what He has done for me. I am Saved and I will do what ever I can. Not to pay Him back. I can't. Not to earn any degree of Heaven. I can't But I will receive whatever He will give me. And it will be a gift for I haven't done very much under my own power as any power I have had for the last 40 years has been from Him not counting the gift of my life from the beginning which most people receive anyway which I threw away in my youth. I know my time is on lone much more then most. But I get by. In Jesus Christ for sure. Amen Bro. Rudick

There was a time I knew I was living a sinful life and I asked Jesus to come into my heart and work in me to make me a better person. I knew I was a sinner and I knew I needed to be a part of what He had provided for me. I do not know if I was "saved" before I decided I needed Christ as a older teen. I was baptized at least three times prior to this so I knew Salvation was not in the baptism. Nor in the decision for baptism. I learned through out many years a lot more then I knew at 19 when I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. I knew I was "saved" at 20. Yet in time, I learned there is a lot more I was expected to do with the gifts God gave me. Bro. Rudick

Discrepancies In the Nativity Story

Thanks for your post. Yes, I have answered this post in many of my other posts. "If it is indeed He that started the work to begin with." Right, OK, thanks;) Bro. Rudick

Galatians 1:24 And they glorified God in me. Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Colossians 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. But we do work if we are "saved". Even if it is Him who worketh in and through us. Bro. Discrepancies In the Nativity Story

8 is the number of New Beginnings and here we have a shift of attention from the Heavens to the Earth. The water on the Earth are gathered together and are called seas. . . Bro. Rudick -
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Bro. Rudick

Not for sure but maybe I can help here. Well, how I understand the Scripture which applies to all weather you believe the Scripture or not that is:) The dead works referred to here is if you tryt to do these things to "Get saved" then they are "dead works". If you do these works because you "are saved" then they are "stones in your crown";) "Power to become"? Well, we can't become adopted sons of Jesus Christ on our own. It is only through the power of Christ that we can become adopted into His Sonship. Can you through your power become the adopted son of anyone? No, I think he is just quoting Scripture from God's point of view and just letting the Word stand on it;s own. That is what I try to do:rolleyes: Bro. Rudick

What you are saved from. The Second Death and Hell. Then to be judged (not in danger of these things. Death and Hell) of our works and rewards according to our works, 1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. . . 1 Corinthians 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. Discrepancies In the Nativity Story
JohnnyRudick replied to Enlil-An's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Way to picky. I have no problem with the view given (pre-flood conditions) of the cosmology given in Genesis or the PofGP. But the Earth is round and has always been round:p If God flooded the universe with water after His original creation and then divided the water from the water where He originally placed our solar system along with a few others in His original Creation (space between Gen 1:1 and 1:2) what is the difference? He has His reasons. If the surface is frozen and is as a "Sea of Glass" and If the Universe is shaped like a giant pyramid and Kolob is at the apex He has His reasons for that also. Job 38:30 The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. Job 38:31 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. Revelation 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Just a Thought;) Bro. Rudick -

I know what the "PC" position is but I after a lifetime of discussions like these would have to say it depends on where you are "Standing".

I don't know:rolleyes: I think we may well have him in an LDS baptismal font soon the way he is going:p Bro. Rudick

OK, I believe you. Now that you are saved, "Saved" to do what? I know if you were to die on the very day you got "Saved", you would continue on in your "Saved" condition even in death. But the question still remains. Saved to do what? Now that you are Saved, . . . Bro. Rudick

I have to agree with you . . . But. . . You knew there had to be one huh? Well, Jim. There are at least a few different Judgments. The one you are thinking of, Yes. Many of the "Saved" will forgo that Judgment. But if you are "Saved" (as I have pointed out so many times before) you have a responsibility to grow in the Gospel, to be a good steward of the grace that "Saved" you. 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. We are "Saved" through Grace through our Faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord's Christ as opposed to the one that shall come and is even now at work in darkness among us. But to the Christ of our Lord, we have a duty to grow in the Salvation He has secured for us. 1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 1 Corinthians 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 1 Corinthians 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 1 Corinthians 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 1 Corinthians 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 1 Corinthians 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's; 1 Corinthians 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's; 1 Corinthians 3:23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's. 1 Corinthians 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. This is not referring to the general "Last Day" Judgment. This is the judgement that every "Saved" person must abide. "What did you do with the Gift I gave you?" "Did you squander it or bury it in the ground or did you invest and make it grow?" "Did you work and increase It's value?" "Are you a wise and faithful servant or are you a lazy and slothful servant?" The wise and faithful will be doing some of the judging at the Last one. 1 Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? Yup:) He had faith. But faith in faith or faith in an object and even works alone, is misplaced faith. Jesus Saves. But from there, the rest is up to you. No, I did not say what some thought I said. Bro. Rudick
