He called him Father and said he couldn't do anything but what the Father showed him. He mediates for us to Father. Sits at the right hand of God He is God, Father exalted him and deemed him worthy of same Glory. These are things written too All these things mean nothing cause he acted before mortal life also?

I understand what your saying but many of these are those who also crucified Jesus for saying the same thing right?

Its about Love 2 Greatest commandments Love even your enemies and Bless them that curse you Thats supposed to be the difference between christians and everyone else. It's hard but that seems to be a big part of what Jesus said to do.

I think it's a little different for everyone. I took note of the way Jesus said to do it in the bible. Mattew 6:5-8 5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. --------------------------------- Jesus then prayed in the format mentioned above as an example. I tried the closet a few times but I've had better results just making sure everyone was in bed or not around.Poor out your heart and mean it and cry if you need to.Then be queit and know that God is there and then listen really hard.Thats the hardest part. Some say out loud some say silent Do whatever feels right to you he will hear either way. That seems to work for me

I don't see why its so hard for some to believe we are the children of God, he calls us children often enough. Before I ever met a missionary this verse made me think I came from Heaven since I have the ability to go there. John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. He's literally my Father so I can't find anything being incorrect about being literally his child.I don't think LDS doctrine teaches it so much as it just confirms normal doctrine. I've never even seen anything written by LDS that even mentions these two verses yet although these verses said it all to me.

What you did seems to be unintentional.I'm not baptised yet either btw. I dealt with something similiar a few weeks ago because I allowed my 8 year old daughter to wear a dress that didn't measure up to the dress code. She seemed fine to me although I did a few times have to remind her to practise sitting like a lady a few times afterwards.Anyways later someone pulled me to the side and handed me a book to read about it.At first I was a little upset being talked to about it but I understood where they were coming from and eventually agreed.I can understand the need for modesty and it seems to me more of something a person does to help others who might be weaked by temptation.Which is the real concern in matters like this I think. At the same time tho wouldn't it draw some looks if a person went to church just wearing a white robe?Yet that's what someone usually wore.I've yet to hear, read or see a picture of Jesus wearing a tie, slacks or a jacket.Frankly I think I'd rather wear a white robe. Interestiingly, under Dress in the index. 1 Nephi 8:19-34 Don't get to worked up over it as others have said, Do keep hanging onto that rod tho and pushing forward.

Maybe my computers just cursed and really hates me so it shows me strange stuff. I might stone it for this one.

Yes, I know Mohammed claimed the angel Gabriel gave him the Qur'an and their view on Jesus.I think I actually found that before and read it in the Qur'an. I agree with what ya said but

I think I understand what is being said clear enough. He says Krauh stoned this in verse: Taking your matador who disbelieve Ithbtok or to kill thee or plots, and traverses God and God’s best malicious" In the Qur'an in the text Al Anfal verse 30 it says 30. Remember how the Unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or slay thee, or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans; but the best of planners is Allah. So that explains it kinda like this I figure If you mess with God or his chosen your gonna get the bull by the horns I think. Now what the guy who made that post is trying to say is that 9/11 happened because the U.S. namely Bush and his followers plotted against the muslims so in his opinion I guess he saying the things that transpire that day were because it was Gods plan because of Bush's plans. And he then starts to show that it caused many to turn to Islam. The links he shares show new members or baptisms I figured.

Since some have been talking of the Qur'an because of the recent news coverage as of late I'm reminded of something that has puzzled me for some time.I guess I'm curious about something. Anyways I came across this website one time cause I was searching for a post i made or something and it kicked back this website .Which caught my attention because it said Krauh stoned something in verse in the search text results which puzzles me cause thats a username that I've used along with Therauh since I started using the internet and I don't remember stoning anything in verse. So I was like ok I guess I should check this out.Anyways you can find it by searching, krauh stoned in verse, pretty easy if that link doesn't work. Anyways a few posts up from the bottom theres a post by a guy who's name is Gaber madany. Its in his post where it says this. which considered by some as an electric stun which Avaguethm of stability sensed deep meaning beyond what Krauh in verse stones "Taking your matador who disbelieve Ithbtok or to kill thee or plots, and traverses God and God’s best malicious" Al Anfal verse 30 sincerity of God Almighty I've looked up the verse it mentions Al Anfal verse 30 and it doesn't say Krauh or mention who wrote it per se.Maybe it a google translate bug or something I dunno. Its just weird know what I mean? I tried emailing the guy who wrote it but he never responded.Perhaps he was weirded out as much recieving an email from Krauh as I was reading his post.

Interesting thought Matthew Ya... there is scipture that does mention not to believe any other gospel revealed by an angel.Mohamed didn't claim just any angel delivered the Qur'an to him either. He said it was the angel Gabriel.I'm not gonna say it was or wasn't....honestly don't know. I only have one question about the Qur'an that I'd like an aswer to but nobody will answer my question from over there.I even sent a person an email once.

It's the kind of thing that gives christians a bad name and while he might not feel the backlash from it other christians living in that area most likely will.Ya have to wonder when a preacher is missing some key points of what Jesus said.... of course many have done the same over the years. He thinks he's helping but it'll most likely cause the opposite as it usually does.Their are so many that don't and won't consider the message or even the existence of God and hold it against him or the idea of him because of things exactly like this.

If you are hunting wabbit I've heard that you need to be vewwy vewwy qwiet and depending on where your at you may want to carry a sidearm especially if your in Alaska...Grizzlies can get pretty fiesty. If thats the case then I would suggest carrying an Eludium Pu-36. Sometimes being qwiet isn't so very good...Back when I used to hunt more It was getting kinda dark but I decided go out to the hunting spot for a few.I came up to a fence with a gate I needed to undo so I grasped the posts to squeeze them together so I could unhook the lock.Well...one of them moments happened.I'm not sure why I didn't notice that big ol' owl sitting on top of that post but he was none to happy that I grabbed hold of his feet. The wind from his wings blew my hat off as we both stared at each other.Finally...I got my wits back and let go.I don't think my heart stopped racing till I got back home and sat down for a good while. That was a short hunting session that I'll never forget...wonder if someone was trying to tell me somethin that night.

I really enjoyed reading this...Thanks all who took their time to offer their input.Things take on such a different light when the meaning behind a word is explained.I hope this will continue some time.

When I read what you've said I feel compassion and my mind is drawn to this. 1 Peter 4 12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

This isn't a reply to any of the posts here but perhaps it would be easier to understand why I've said some of the things I've said as to why I think at times satan's attempts/attacks/manifestations on people can sometimes have an effect that works out counter productive for him. My Testimony
-
I don't know why it seems like were debating this when I think we both said the same thing just a different way Perhaps pride is getting in the way Our discussion was can behaviors be influenced by satan You don't like the route I took to prove it one way and yes I can see where some might have a problem accepting that I'm sure some at the time had a hard time accepting that Adam and Eve had to do as they did to bring about Gods purpose Heres an easier example we shouldn't have to call the GA about _______ is caused by the devil. I think he works for cosmo too Mamma said "Cosmo teh devil!" :)

Would anyone sane sell out their savior whom they loved for some coin and then turn around shortly after that and hang themself unless they were? It says Satan entered him. In another spot that relates the story Jesus even tells him to do what he has to quickly. He wasnt speaking to Judas...anymore. I think a better question would be how did he do it? After all he was a disciple. What do you mean by Via the priesthood? There wasn't a priesthood apparently when Joseph was overcome as most understand it. I don't remember any priests being next to me either...I was the only human person there. Other than the Ultimate priest showing up there wasn't any priesthood doing anything for us other than the power of God. I don't see the reason to label it as God via priesthood when God was the only one that could do it. I prefer to just "Thank God". I'm sure Joseph Thanked God also....without throwing the priesthood into it. Its much simpler than all the technical terms that cause misinterpretations and confusion. Priesthood power is nice but it doesn't trump where it comes from.
-
There are actually many instances where behaviors were affected by such things and the results can be almost unbelievable yet they happen I think. A few examples: Mark 5 Luke 22 So I conclude that it is possible.... I can tell you what happened to Joseph, being overcome by darkness, has happened to others.Well at least one that I know of for sure.Wasn't a pillar of light or an amazing conversation immediately following but there was a few month old child that roared like a lion but YEA!! However he chooses to do it....HE STILL SAVES!
-
That's directly what i've been saying...indirectly. :) However...I question why you believe its possible for temptations to have supernatural causes but not behaviors? Please don't anyone take what I'm saying the wrong way.... I'm not trying to condone "the devil made me do it"...but I don't see where its entirely impossible. What happens to those who go through what Joseph did but aren't saved by God?
-
No... What I'm saying is when Joseph knelt darkness did manifest itself to him point blank.Joseph kept calling on God and at the point where Joseph felt he was about to give up and be destroyed God stepped in and saved him. What came from it was that Joseph then knew that God was real, God was there, God was all powerful. He had no doubts about those things anymore. He didn't have to ask which church any longer. Then he was instructed to make this church. No good can come from it tho? I disagree.

Nice to meet you

I can relate....Struggling too.You aren't Alone. It's ruff trying to deal with a broken heart alone...been trying to do it for several years. I've managed to repent of everything immediately hampering me from coming into the church but smoking so far.I've been smoking since I was about 5 years old.I hate that it so far has managed to keep me at the spot where I can't seem to move forward much or where I need to be. I realize that eventually I have to give up wrestling with God like Jacob and lean on the Lords arm and give him this broken heart. It's the only sacrifice he accepts and that's why I have it. O' and would you like to be friends?

Saw part off the rally and I was kind of impressed...I repent of my somewhat harsh previous perception of him.Sorry Glenn.
