Howdy, LDS.net has a podcast? I would subscribe to that. You are all good people. At any rate, on an Internet forum, discussion is dissent. Elsewise, without contrarians, the community would devolve into an echo chamber. Of course, you could always promote me to moderator. I am an authoritarian, at heart. Banning the rabble-rousers could elicit some serious thrills. Yes, rabble-rousers, that means you! :)

Hi, If all of the comments were complementary of every word from General Authorities, what kind of "discussion board" would this place be? Perhaps agreeable forum members could join together to form a blog or podcast whose direct purpose would be to share uplifting messages from church leaders? That could be an appealing idea. Cheers, Kawazu

Hi, Perhaps Latter Day Saints in Utah use government to enact Mormon-themed laws upon their neighbors because it has been awhile since Latter Day Saints were persecuted by government? In fact, one of the main reasons why I am hesitant for any government to adopt religious trappings and enforce religious practices is because I am LDS. Likely, politicians who run on a heavily "Christian" platform think that I am ensorcelled by some fashion of a cult. I would hate to consider the outcomes if Mormonism were branded fanatical, extremist, or heretical in the bureaucratic eye. Regards, Kawazu

FDA says Zicam nasal spray can cause loss of smell
Kawazu replied to Dr T's topic in General Discussion
Hi, The FDA approval process would cost individual supplement suppliers millions and millions of dollars. Therefore, it is unfeasible. I do support any third-party organization that would verify the ingredients claimed in non-pharmaceutical supplements. As for their effectiveness, I can research that, independently. Cheers, Kawazu -
Howdy, Faith is living as though one's beliefs, (especially theological or philosophical), are actually true. Regards, Kawazu

I bet AJ could find some virtuous passages from the Book of Mormon.

Denominations interpret basic assumptions differently.

I, too, would also appreciate a page number, chapter number, or a direct quotation of the relevant passage of text--if available.

Source?

Yes. In any community, it may benefit newcomers to participate in a noncontroversial way, (at least for a little while). Sequentially, this allows preestablished members to see the recently arrived person more like a potential friend and less as a source of controversy. A friend of mine is an artist, as well. Thus far, he paints with acrylics. Cheers, Kawazu

His, Mormon Stories podcast on Blacks and the LDS Priesthood was great; I recommend it: Blacks and the LDS Priesthood

Keep prowling, man. I could have a relapse at any time.

I am a true follower of Christ Jesus and the Holy Bible. I do not want to wage war. I will converse with people.

Why should the Spirit permit one piercing?

Howdy, On the topic of, "defiling the body" -- what is the Church's position on changing haircolor or pierced ears? Regards, Kawazu

Hi, I would also like to add that it is not necessary to convert in order to understand somebody else's faith. For instance, I can appreciate how an inerrant Holy Bible is one of the central miracles distinct to Protestant Christian denominations. Also, I can see how Protestant Christians believe that faith in Christ is the only mandate for Heavenly Salvation--even though they still believe in doing Christian things for their friends and neighbors. When we ask for you to understand, and we are not asking you to convert. I would be happy if you simply understood the LDS point of view. Cheers, Kawazu

I believe he asks some good questions that I think many people raised in the church take for granted, though. If we go through the effort of answering your inquiry, AJ, will you not jump from question to question, this time?

You are right. Let us quit Mormonism, together. I am free! Mr. AJ: This post is meant to illustrate, (facetiously), why Scripture battles never go anywhere. Presuming I showed the forum Scriptural evidence for a Flying Spaghetti Monster, nobody would join me in paying respect to his Divine Noodle. Most active religious people are firmly established within their belief systems. Perhaps you could take a page from prisonchaplain and ask him why he spends time online hanging around the LDS people, here. It might give you some perspective on what to expect from this forum community. Cheers, Kawazu

Hi, I have heard it explained that, in the case of sex addictions, anyway, the brain of a person produces less of the "satisfied"/I'm done chemical than in a typical individual, so that a person pursues sexual activities twice as often with less than half of the biological "reward". In any case, it was stressed in the news program that actual brain-chemical sex addictions only affect a small portion of the population. Regards, Kawazu

Are there contradictions in the Mormon writings?
Kawazu replied to aj4u's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Oh--that makes sense. Nevertheless, why not translate into 19th-century English? -

No. I was just saying that a person becomes accustomed. Perhaps one of the other members could field this particular inquiry.
