  1. Don't say the M word. I'm an Ohio State University Buckeye. We call it the "state up north":):):)
  2. All fifty states have an official state motto. I expect if you're in another country, your "area" has one also. What are some of them? I'll start. I'm in Ohio. Our motto, "With God All Things Are Possible".
  3. Noone gets blown away playing minature golf. Unless they're playing near a post office:)
  4. I stand by my view that I look at the poll that is more correct than the others. Why waste time looking at polls that, historically, have been off by several points. I'm old. Can't waste time:)
  5. Clinton and Obama want to "talk" to them. You think she can talk them to death?:)
  6. Rasmussen called the last two presidential elections closer than any other polling group. The last one they off only one-half of a percent. The combined polls missed it by three percent. Rasmussen in conducted daily with the three day average.
  7. Yep, those Federal judges are appointed for life. Great retirement plan too. Death. But they may not be so quick to mess with Prop.8. That is in the California Supreme Court. I'm not sure about California, but supreme court justices are elected in my state(Ohio). I'm sure someone here knows the situation in CA.
  8. No, I'm referring to all the other things the voters have passed over the years just to have their vote thrown out by the courts. Proposition 8 isn't over yet. They don't give up that easily when things go against them.
  9. President Obama's approval rate is now +2. That is the lowest it has ever been. That number is those that strongly support him (36%) minus those that are strongly opposed (34%). Is overalll popularity in still at 55%, but that is also down slightly. (Rasmussen Reports). His policy decisions range anywhere between 51% and 33%.( Fox News Poll) This will catch up with him eventually. Looks like the "Honeymoon" is about to come to an end.
  10. If you think what the majority votes should stand, I hope you don't live in California.:)
  11. They've been listening to the promises for over 40 years. They are still listening. The black race had lower unemployement under Reagan than any other President. Oh well.
  12. The First Presidency tells each member to vote their conscious. Most members in Utah vote Republican. Sen. Reid says the Democratic Party is more sympathetic toward the poor, like the Savior would be, but in reality the conservative Republicans donate more to charity than any other group. Just what politicians of either party do you really think are "wise, good and honest":):)
  13. And your point is what?
  14. Well, Utah is the most Republican state in the country and you have to admit the Democratic Party Platform does not reflect the values or beliefs of the LDS Church, regardlerss of what Sen.Reid says. I used to vote Democrat until I joined the Church.
  15. I'll never understand why anyone that has been in a war would want to play war games on a screen. This also goes for those that recreate Civil War battles.
  16. Are you sure your name isn't Bernie Madoff?
  17. Happy (early) Easter A woman opened her refrigerator and saw a rabbit sitting on one of the shelves. "What are you doing there she asked". To which the rabbit responded "This is a westinghouse isn't it". "Yes it is" she said. The rabbit answered " Well, I'm westing". I know that's really, really bad:D
  18. Don't you wish....:):)
  19. I've never eaten fish in my life. From the smell alone I don't know how anyone can eat it:confused:
  20. The Church stance isn't that it's ok to gamble if you win. Winning or losing has nothing to do with it. We are told by our leaders that we should not play games of chance. Either we follow their council or we don't. Those that don't usually find themselves in trouble. This council also includes state lotteries. These are nothing more than a user tax that falls most heavily on the poor. I worry about states that depend on gambling when drawing up their budget.
  21. When my wife and I were dating, Catholics didn't eat meat on Friday. On more than one occasion my future mother-in-law made me a sandwich with meat while they ate fish. I learned from her that we should never do anything to make a visitor feel uneasy or uncomfortable in my home.
  22. Maybe I should have heading this "Your Most Embarrassing Pantyhose Moment" except hor the fact that I don't have one.:)
  23. "Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem." Ronald Reagan and "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Ronald Reagan
  24. Good luck Canuck, hope you find something. I'm a victim also. My teaching position got the ax with the budget cuts. Fortunately, I have enough years in to retire, but my aid is six years short. I'm wondering what the definition of an "Education President" and "Education Governor" are. We have both and I don't have a job. The eight years that Bush was in office I got up and came to work each day. What do I do when August rolls around with Obama in office?
