LDS Church's New Managing Director for Church Communication

Yup, same thing with abortions. Within the next 100 years science will prove that human fetuses are the same as babies. And then we will have to recognize that we had our own home grown holocaust right here in the promise land. -

Wonder if they are any better than the San Fran Gay Choir -
Thought can be more than good or bad. I can fix a femur with traction, cast, plates and screws, external fixation, intramedullary nail, etc… Thanks to diversity of thought.

Another record. Most receiving yards by a rookie in a playoff game. 9 receptions, 182 yards, 1 TD

Please don’t let there be a celestial version of a roach. I’m ok with the animals, the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air. Gonna pass on the creeping things.

Excellent question. Thanks, I learned something new. S. Kent Brown, “What Were Those Sacrifices Offered by Lehi?” in From Jerusalem to Zarahemla: Literary and Historical Studies of the Book of Mormon (Provo, UT: Religious Studies Center, Brigham Young University, 1998), 1–8. https://rsc.byu.edu/jerusalem-zarahemla/what-were-those-sacrifices-offered-lehi#:~:text=When Lehi “made an offering, safely completed a long journey. Also, there are huge similarities between Lehi and Moses. Moses and the burning bush - Lehi and the pilar of fire Exodus from Egypt - Exodus from Jerusalem Travel thru the wilderness Destination of the promised land. Perhaps the Lord was trying to impress upon Lehi and his family that Lehi was a similitude of Moses. Laman and Lemuel both believed in Moses. But they couldn't believe that their own father (or brother) could be a prophet.

Jesus Christ, during his ministry, didn’t have a marketing team. Mark 7: 36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it; But then again Jesus is way ahead of everyone and probably knew that his charge would be violated. Hence he may have been using reverse psychology as a means to his ends of a marketing program. But I doubt it. I hope that there are way more saints out there whom Christ healed that cherished his gift and heeded his words. -

I’m not one to complain much about the decisions of the machine that is the Church of Jesus Christ. I may be baffled at times. Or curious as to what the intentions are of the Lord - Brethren - or executives / administrators. Anytime tithing funds go to pockets that appear to be fighting against the Lord makes me uneasy. I am much more concerned about the faculty @ BYU than a communications director though. Personally I’m not a big fan of marketing. -

“Sometimes when we see an article or listen to something in the media that we know is not right, we don’t have to immediately scream about it or go ballistic about something that we might have seen,” he said. “Sometimes it’s a matter of asking the question, either of the media outlet or of the person who shared it.” Aaron Sherinian I find myself agreeing with him. -

The cicadas actually don’t eat hardly anything. The birds go nuts and gorge on them though. For a day or so then they get satiated. -
What is the difference between heterosexual and cisgender? I’m obviously not woke enough.

Strange that I meet every single category and feel like I have had to work against the system for everything I have…

Mesopotamia art and similarities with LDS doctrine
mikbone replied to mikbone's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
From what I gather, Gilgamesh is the oldest surviving literary work. Ignoring the book of Ether and the Golden Plates… And the similarities with the Garden of Eden and the great flood are unmistakable. I find it comforting that the ancients were more likely to believe in miracles and a creation story than many of today’s educated experts. -
Reviewing the Epic of Gilgamesh I couldn’t help but make comparisons to Adam and Eve and Noah’s flood. This art looks like an angel tending the tree of life with a bucket of water and picking fruit.

In B H Roberts immortality of Man he proposes a Tripartite model. http://boap.org/LDS/Parallel/Immortality-of-Man.html Wherein before the beginning we were first intelligences. Then in the beginning, we were spiritually begotten into spirit children. And finally upon entry into mortality we are physically begotten by our Earthly parents into mortal beings. Intelligences -> Spirits -> Mortal beings From D&C 77:2 we see that Joseph Smith comments on the spirit of the beasts. This begs the question, if the beasts have spirits, do they also follow a tripartite model? Did some intelligences decide to become beast spirits? Will animals become resurrected? “So we see that the Lord intends to save, not only the earth and the heavens, not only man who dwells upon the earth, but all things which he has created. The animals, the fishes of the sea, the fowls of the air, as well as man, are to be recreated, or renewed, through the resurrection, for they too are living souls.” - Joseph Fielding Smith, Conference Report, October 1928

Yup, I think ChatGPT needs some re-programming. I assume that it has been printed enough that ('fear not' is found 365x in the bible) - that the programming just assumed that it was correct. When I had it actually send back the accounts per book - in the KJV - it didn't add up. And even in those accounts it counted every instance wherein the word fear itself was used. ChatGPT reminds me of Cheese. NOT READY YET
-
ChatGPT produces that the New International Version (NIV) contains 365 occurrences. Only 74 in the KJV, 14 in the BoM, 5 in the D&C, 3 in the PoGP

Of course not. Everyone knows that only white people can be racist… Be real.
