I’m not trying to leap to any conclusion. I’m leaving my options open. McConkie put forth the idea that they would come from SLC Headquarters. I’m gonna be on the lookout for any prophets causing a ruckus in 🇮🇱. From what I gather, they won’t be in 3 piece suits and ties. And my imagination pictures a couple guys in the prime of their life. I could be wrong as always though. Not going to delay the day of my repentance until 2 of our GAs get stuck in Jerusalem.

Yup, For all we know it could be John the Beloved and one of the Three Nephites. They don't necessarily have to be 'latter' day saints. Could be a few of the ancients. John 21:22, 3 NE 28:4-9 We just don't know, lots of options. Could be a couple guys from the City of Enoch. I won't be one of those sending gifts one to another though. Revelations 11:10

Im not a word guy. It drives my wife nuts as she has a degree in English. I’m a concept / visual thinker. Yes they were called disciples. They were also special witnesses of Christ and were ordained, no doubt given keys etc. 1 Ne 12:7-10

I do believe that they will be apostles. And latter-day saints. As opposed to the ancient saints. But I don’t think they will come from Salt Lake City. There were 12 apostles with the Nephites while there were 12 apostles in Jerusalem…

I’m not sold on the idea that these two wittinesses will be LDS Apostles as we currently know them. If you read the scriptures of note, Revelations 11 2 Ne 8: 18-20 D&C 77:15 They don’t describe our current members of the quorum. Although we do have: “followers of that humble man Joseph Smith, through whom the Lord of Heaven restored the fulness of his everlasting gospel in this final dispensation of grace. No doubt they will be members of the Council of the Twelve or of the First Presidency of the Church.” (Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, 3:509.) - Bruce R McConkie McConkie is well known for submitting his personal understanding as ‘Mormon Doctrine’

Of note is the scripture in the bottom right of the picture, or the far left side of the desk. 2 Ne 29: 5 O ye Gentiles, have ye remembered the Jews, mine ancient covenant people? Nay; but ye have cursed them, and have hated them, and have not sought to recover them. But behold, I will return all these things upon your own heads; for I the Lord have not forgotten my people. Also, notice that the chapter ends with these words. And I will show unto them that fight against my word and against my people, who are of the house of Israel, that I am God, and that I covenanted with Abraham that I would remember his seed forever.

Joseph had friends betray him. But he always had support from most of the Saints. Joseph also had some very close friends / followers that remained supportive even after being put through rough tests of loyalty (Brigham Young & Heber C Kimball come to mind). Job didn’t have any support. Both Job & the Liberty Jail scriptures are excellent references that we can use to give us strength in adversity. My favorite is D&C 122:8

Temple thoughts the Sealing Ordinance
mikbone replied to JohnsonJones's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
This displays Sidney Rigdon’s complete lack of understanding of the gospel. The priesthood only allows one the authority to provide service and bless others. Although Mosiah 18:14 is a curiosity. It is truly an interesting event. In 13 it is obvious that Alma only uses Helam’s name and does not specifically site his own name. Alma obviously had been given the priesthood previously. Which means that he had likely been baptized previously. Perhaps he felt the need to re-commit himself. And Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery received the priesthood prior to being baptized. -
Temple thoughts the Sealing Ordinance

132:7 the conditions of this law are these: All covenants, contracts, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections, associations, or expectations. Pretty hefty if then clause. 1 If they fulfill all obligations after having been 2 sealed by the holy spirit of promise 3 And don’t commit murder Points two and three must be fulfilled prior to the final judgement. In my opinion, point one requires commitment to the glory of God, diligence, and work both now and after the final judgement. This scripture always invokes a recollection of King David and Uriah (as well as Uriah’s men). Best not to commit murder. -
Remember this? We have pretty much already agreed upon how many Palestinians are worth a single Israeli.

Also super expensive. But I keep hoping that we can continue with breakthroughs that will lead us to a Star Trek type future instead of the Mad Max disaster. Musk will send up Starship next month. Google has just announced 20 Gbps internet service. The good ‘ole Issac vs. Ishmael family feud keeps goin strong though…

https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/1005426? “And because these quasiparticles are controlled by light rather than an electrical current and gating, processing speeds in theoretical devices have the potential to reach femtoseconds—six orders of magnitude faster than the nanoseconds achievable in current Gigahertz electronics. All at room temperature.”

I keep returning to the concept of the different types of doctrine. Core or Eternal Supportive Policy Esoteric Our testimonies should be based upon core and eternal doctrines. Every GC talk dwells on core and supportive doctrine. What we see in these “Protestant Mormons” is that they don’t have a testimony based on core doctrine. They ignore core and supportive doctrine and are critical of policy and esoteric doctrine. The adversary is insidious. He loves misdirection. My testimony is based upon Jesus Christ. Not a statement about COVID vaccines. Policy changes. Esoteric doctrine is fun but cannot grant salvation. Esoteric doctrine can also lead to dark nebulous paths. Jacob 6:8, 12 O be wise; what can I say more?

And the Short nosed Bear and Dire wolf might have made the Bering Strait land bridge a bit hazardous.

Dunno, I wouldn’t plan my salvation based on your preference. It would be like living in the dark ages and keeping clean because you have obsessive compulsive behavior. When an epidemic hits, you will probably be much less likely to catch the plague because you maintain cleanliness and desire to isolate yourself from others because of your need to control your environment. As opposed to being an educated doctor and knowing that the plague is caused by transmission of the bacteria Yersinia pestis via the vector of rat fleas, or water droplets from infected individuals 😷. With this knowledge you can educate others and prevent the disease. Also, you can develop antibiotics to cure people that are affected by the disease. You can help yourself and others by your knowledge of the truth. Some may feel like ignorance is bliss. Knowledge is power. Intelligence is using knowledge wisely.

Acts 4: 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. AND Isaiah 45: 21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. I wholeheartedly disagree with your premise.
