I had the opportunity to chat with oomah and she is a very nice person. Don't worry oomah, Disrespectful or Disruptive has said worse things to long tome posters. He only wants to chat with those whom he can manipulate into sending him a photo and they must be female and young and "no fattys" as he puts it. I have to wonder how many people he has run off from LDS Talk with his "Charm"

I have a question about the evacuees. They are being relocated in States across the USA but according to the new s, my State volunteered to take as many as 2000. On the news a plane was landing with 150 evacuates from New Orleans. They are being set up at Camp Williams which is just about 15 miles? aways from where I live. Here is the kicker, when these people were put onto the airplane they were not told where they were going. When I read what it took to get this country and what our forefathers had to suffer to settle it, looking at what it will take to keep it or lose it, doesn't bother me. We have had our own trials as have our parents. My parents had to live through the depression when they were young, and served in two wars. I don't know that there has really ever been 'a perfect time' to live. I remember the fear the nuclear bomb brought and many of the hippy generation felt that the world was not safe to bring children into. Then there was the vietnam war which was devestating for all who had children or family in it. Some even committed suiside because it looked like such a frightening time to live and that there was no hope for a future. I actually think our children will have a better life than we did. They will be stronger and if they have the Lord on their side, what can destroy them? Physically everything can be devestating. But there has been something physically frightening in every generation of history. I think it is part of Father in Heavens plan. Look at what the Jews went through, what the pioneers went through, what every generation through out history has gone through. This earth never was made for a pleasant trip through time. It was meant to gives us experience and trial. ← Very good points. Thank you dor sharing them. :)

You seem to be the one making all the judgments around here. Do you think you are so perfect that you can throw crap at others, calling them names and telling them they have no right, but you have? Two died from poisoning when they were just kittens. One had the tail and rear end skinned off of him and then set on our porch. One was shot with a dart. One was hit by a car while on the sidewalk, and one had its guts strew all over that back yard after having its belly sliced open with a butcher knife and one was taken from our front yard and left several miles away. It all happened in one years time. We had a creep for a neighbor. When he moved, the stuff stopped. ←

Not to sound ignorant, but where, exactly, is Tasunomy? I'm sure it must be a prominent area, but I must have missed what happened there. Was I asleep that month? If you could point me to a map with Tasunomy on it I would appreciate it. I also think it's fun to point fingers at those who have been through bad things and make wild comments about how those people must be wicked because these things happened to them. Maybe you could ask SF if what happened to her son was a result of his wickedness? That would be a fun discussion. Or, maybe we could talk about how some things happen as a result of poor planning, and discuss solutions that would help relieve those problems in the future. Have you ever heard the discussion on the reputation of New Orleans as a city? Have you heard the discussion they held on the reputation on Shrilanka and that place where the tital wave struck hardest? Did you know they were both known as two of the most lucivious places on the earth? Cities as a whole, not speaking now of the individual, but collectively, are known by the whole world as very wicked places. Now if the innocent choose to live among the wicked... who is to be blamed? Orem, Utah has grown 20 times as big because many have imigrated here for the family friendly area. There is less crime here than in many other cities. Does that mean there is no crime? No, and there probably won't be a place that pure until Christ cleanses the whole earth one place at a time. ← I think that you really believe that the Lord just took these people out. "Wicked so be gone with you" Last night I watched the 20/20 special on the hurricane. They talked about the possibility that they reason why it look do long to get the Federal aid programs to step into the relief effort is because many of the people there are poor and black. Peace Being chastised by God is far from being abandoned by him. You call it being chastised by God when trials come your way. I would imagine that there are those who feel abandoned by God as Traveler mentioned in the start of this thread.

Oh Jenda, That is so nice of you to want to use your training to help these people. As I have mentioned before I think that our husbands are somewhat alike. If you have all of the arrangements made before he gets home and things are easy for him that you might have a better chance. Let us know how things turn out and Good Luck. :)

So what happens to the world doesn't matter once you are dead? What about your children and your grandchildren? ← They will have to live with it, just as I had to live with my generation and believe me having both my brothers go to Nam and most of my generation die young from cancer, heart disease, diabetes and a multitude of other diseases as well as care for our elderly who lived forever long, WAS NO PICNIC. The way I see it God is the one they need to lean to, not me. My turn will be over, I fought the good fight, but I won't be doing it for my children, they will be doing it for themselves as I did. ← Interesting thought. I remember when I was just a youth Saturdays Warrior came out. I thought "I" will be that generation. Now I feel afraid for my children and their families. I do feel prepared in some area of my life but how do we cope with a country in peril?

Are we preaching the gospel to them? ← Right now these people need to be saved physically. I can appreciate what some are saying here about when times get tough either finding it as the will of our Father in Heaven or being deserted by Him. Finding bad things that happen to us as the Will of God takes lots of practice. I have to really wonder if God is punishing the wicked with Natural Disasters. There are plenty of righteous people who have also lost everything they had due to this occurrence.

Sure I think that my pets will be there. I just know that they will complain about me treating them like my babies for their entire life. :)

You are kidding right? Providing for their needs???? All these people had when they made it to a shelter was the things they were wearing on their backs. If this happened to us even with all of our preparation we would be dependant of others to help us. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a family starving and being dehydrated while being among others who have died. Maybe you would like to live just 5 days under these same circumstances. Most likely there are thousands who have died here... where is the compassion? If I remember right there was more support given for the victums of the tsunami
