    Your Parents...

My mom always was there to attend every function that I participated in. Even if it mean getting up at 2 a.m. so that I could get to school to catch a bus for a drill team competition. She would then follow the bus in her own vehicle for the 4-6 hour drive. She worked full time yet still managed to do all of this. Though we didn't always have alot of money growing up...my dad always seemed to have money put away so that we could enjoy our annual family vacations. Those are some of my fondest memories. They also brought me up to appreciate all walks of life. All ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Perhaps that is why even today I have such utter dislike for any kind of racial/ethnic slurs. Of that I am very proud.
  2. Welcome Steve. How is it that you have already served two missions? You are younger than me. Let's just say I'm at the other end of the valley.

  4. That is a cute picture and that's all I'm going to say about it or him. hahahaha
  5. My daughter is "iiinnnn llllluuuuuuvvvvv" and will barely talk to me any more. Except, of course, when there's a huge spider in her room and she's literally hysterically terrified, so I have to go and catch it so she can calm down. (She was bitten by a black widow, and was already afraid of them.) Then she deigns to talk to me for the night. I am still so crazy about her that my whole body aches with love whenever I see her. Elphaba I know it hurts but I don't think she loves you any less. She has found someone else that she can share her love with. Not all of it of course but right now she is a young girl that is in love and is exploring any possibilities there. I remember going through the same thing when I was her age. Hang in there. Thanks Pam. Actually, I am very happy for her, and sort of hope this is the one. He is very nice to me, but more importantly, extremely nice to her. Best of all, they TALK! She needs to get away from me, and it probably took longer than it should have! Can you imagine having to talk to me all the time?? Elphaba Oh I'm sure there are some subjects we would agree on and be able to talk about. Are you stickin' to it??? Elphie Just for you....That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
  6. Bianca from America's Got Talent Did you see this young girl? She is 11 years old. Talk about talent.

  10. I have found that I REALLY enjoy my teenagers. They bring much into my life. Laughter, joy, insight. They surprise me greatly with their minds and logic quite often. Not to say we don't have our struggles on different issues but I think those struggles and issues bring us closer together when we can come to a resolution.
  11. That was the exact point that I lost it as well.
  12. This article is much too long to post here but I found this online this morning. Very interesting and quite different than what I expected. I was happy with the results but still surprised. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=156&sid=1666217
  13. Here's a story from the SL Trib concerning the possible future of the mine. http://www.sltrib.com/ci_6599167?source=rss
  14. But you know once is all said and done it won't be shut down. The bottom line is money.
  15. There are wonderful things that have happened from Iraq. Here is one link and one story. http://meredithtoday.ivillage.com/entertai..._good_news.html
  16. a soldier from this area came home a few months ago from iraq....he told what all was going on there....he also mentioned the account in the news that we get does not always portray whats really going on. For good or bad or both?
  17. My opinion as well. That's why so many have other opinions of what's going on there.
  18. I have seen that picture before and it touches me every time.
  19. SF stole that one from me.
  20. hey pammie....we agree.....I would rather watch paint dry than to watch this movie.....LOL!!!! Pam, Pale, I'm hurt, I'm deeply WOUNDED! A Christmas Story is one of the best movies of all time! We watch it 2-3 times each Christmas season, and we quote the lines all the rest of the year, particularly my daughters and me. I didn't know anyone that hated it... If you want to watch bad, and I mean BAD movies, you have to watch Mystery Science Theater 3000. It no longer plays on Sci-Fi or Comedy Central, but it was one of the best off beat humor shows ever done. The movies were almost painful to watch, they were so bad, but with these 3 guys injecting comments every 5 seconds it was hilarious. My kids and I do that now all the time, even when we watch a good movie. Check out the official website for the worst movies ever. EVER. One Canadian one comes to mind: The Final Sacrifice. So bad it would make you cry... haha Six. Well the subject is best bad movies. We still watch A Christmas Story every Christmas. It's a movie that is so bad it can be good. My favorite part is the kid in the snow suit. I am sorry....I don't watch it.....would rather watch paint dry You have to forgive Pale. Being from Missouri something like watching paint dry would be appropriate. He has to be "shown" things. I think we should make Pale stick his tongue to a frozen metal pole while the rest of us watch it next Christmas. Elphaba Now THAT would be something worth watching.
  21. I saw it. Does that mean I'm normal? haha
  22. Elphaba we will never agree on this subject. I will repeat what I said in an earlier post. This thread is just rehashing the same things over and over that have already been discussed in other threads. Still won't change my opinion of the situation.
  23. I loved it! Elphie I saw them perform half time at a Jazz Game. They were amazing. Did you see any hints of how they were doing it? Elphie Not a one. The one that amazed me the most was when he threw glitter all over her and she came out in a formal dress. They did that at the show as well. It truly was mind boggling.
  24. Then I will take what she said with a grain of salt. How many politicians, how many of us have said things that we wish we could take back the moment we said them? Did we mean them when we said them? Probably not. I know I have opened mouth insert foot many times. But I can't take back what was said. For politicians, everything they say is recorded. This was unfortunate for her.
  25. Could you show reference where she said this? Pam, Look in my post below. Elphaba What post below?
