I felt bad for Shambo; she did great during the challenge and didn't get any of the reward, but her tribemates who sat out got the reward they didn't even help get! I was mildly annoyed at Ashley for not finishing the challenge; yes, I'm sure it's disgusting, but she had like ONE bite left.

Vaguely related to gender segregation in the military... I believe studies have been done that in a war zone, when the infantry is mixed men and women, the men will become distracted and often make attempts to "protect" the female soldiers.

Personally, I can't stand those "WE'RE GETTIN HITCHED!!!" Facebook groups.

Wait, where did this come from?

Does Halloween tell us anything about ourselves?
annamaureen replied to Traveler's topic in General Discussion
Halloween is definitely a chance for me to express myself! I love costumes, and I do believe they express my personality in some way. This year I want to be a conspiracy nut - shirt with an alien on it, some new-agey crystal on a cord around my neck, and a tin foil hat. -
How long does it take to fall in love with someone?
annamaureen replied to Gatsby's topic in Single Adults
I believe you can have an instant connection to someone. I believe you can have a feeling that the relationship is right. But I think there are different kinds of love and you can "love" someone after a short period of time, but it's not the true, deep, lasting kind of love you can build a marriage on - that takes time to develop. I can't help but judge people who say they're "in love" after only a few dates. It cheapens the meaning of the word. You can't truly love someone after a week! When my husband and I were dating, he said he loved me before I did. I waited until I really felt I could say it honestly and truly - and even then, that love changed and grew stronger with time. My love for him while we were dating was different than the love for him during our engagement, and that was different than the love I feel for him now that we're married. -
This is so funny! The lyrics are great.

This is probably an overly simplistic answer, but... it's easier to say "don't do it at all" than to say "well, you can do it a bit," because then where is the line drawn between moderation and too much? It's best just to not open ourselves up to it.

I lived in Belgium as a kid for a few years (military dad) and attended the English elementary school instead of the American one. We wore uniforms and I liked it! I moved back to the states in time to enter middle school and wow, the clothing styles were definitely a surprise for me.

All the dead are resurrected at the Millennium, right? But do the resurrected come live on the earth, or remain in the spirit world/heaven?

I concur with this. You are back on the path of righteousness, and Satan hates that! He'll do anything to stop you, and try to bring you back to his ways. A close friend of mine struggled with pornography but was clean for a long time. The night before his temple marriage, he had the overwhelming temptation to view porn again. Luckily he resisted, and was sealed the next day - but that was Satan trying his last ditch effort to prevent my friend's righteous desires. It will probably happen to you, too, but you can be strong!

Modesty - A question in child rearing and clothing
annamaureen replied to SeattleTruthSeeker's topic in Parenting
After I got garments, I only had to get rid of a few items of clothing... my roommate at the time, who went through the temple shortly before I did, had to replace almost half her clothes, and complained about it contantly. -
I feel the same way, Tarnished! I watched it with my family all the time, then I left home and missed a couple seasons because it just wasn't the same. Now I'm married and have started watching again!

I'm glad Yasmin is gone. She was annoying and lazy.

I saw that a while ago, but it's still just as funny!

People often make things with water - hot chocolate, canned soup, macaroni - but it's gross! Milk all the way! It tastes much better.

Thanks for all the answers, everyone... of course it makes sense that they'd let medical teams in, I just wasn't sure!
-
That makes sense, Gwen, but what if it was a situation where the person couldn't be moved?

I agree with other people's suggestion to avoid the internet entirely... but if you can't, try moving the computer to a public place (if you live with others) or away from the room you usually view pornography in. Turn it off at night, or whenever you feel the temptation most.
-
What would happen if someone had an emergency in a temple, and an ambulance had to be called? Would the medical team be allowed in? How would the whole thing be handled? I'm just curious!

We'd been dating several months, and I went home for Christmas... I missed him terribly, I kept begging my parents to change my ticket so I could go back early! At that point he and I both kind of realized, "this is it."

It's a tough subject, but I agree with silvermoon in that God is a loving, caring Heavenly Father who has created the Plan of Happiness for just that reason - so we can be happy. I have a hard time thinking about polygamy; it really churns my stomach up. But if there's one thing I know, it's that God loves me and it'll all work out somehow. That's a trite thing to say, I know, but after stressing about it for ages, it's brought me some peace. I expect there will be far fewer polygamous marriages in heaven than everyone imagines, anyway.

What is your favorite temple?
annamaureen replied to StallionMcBeastly's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I'm biased towards Provo, since that was where I was endowed and married... plus, I see it all the time, so it's comforting and familiar. Funnily enough, back when I was in the singles ward, EVERY engaged couple got married in Timpanogos or SLC, despite the fact that we all lived in Provo! My roommate at the time was completely taken aback when I told her I was getting married in the Provo temple. I like it, though, even if nobody else does.
