  1. I stated why I am protesting multiple times on different threads. You can also search google for general information on protesters.
  2. Per Occupy Together Facebook: At least 118 active, ongoing Occupations and 1,367 communities in some stage of planning or preparation. Hundreds more will be active or begin Occupations on October 15th. Were sitting at about 2,500 signed up to protest in Phoenix.... Which starts October 15th..
  3. Some media attention is better then no media attention. In this case it turned out that the majority of the coverage was good media attention. Like previously stated this has only worked out for our benefit.
  4. I'm very humbled by that statement. Thank You.
  5. Most of my professors state their bias at the beginning of class. The funny part is the liberal ones actually attempt at delivering an unbias education. On the other hand I have dealt with Republican professors who are not scared to spew what they believe the whole class period. I had one Libertarian professor I had to battle the whole class, he wouldn't get off his political views at all.
  6. Vort, you finally snagged me I misread as I am at work not focusing on this.
  7. That doesn't look like a $2.61/ hour raise. IF the profits are 14.3 billion and current employees make 2.1billion. Every employees wages would be multiplied by 7. Wow what a massive wage!!!
  8. I'm actually a highly productive member of society, so I don't understand how that applies to me. Like any other group you will get bad apples. Previous question still stands: How do you respond to a lawyer, public worker, student etc. involved in the movement?
  9. How do you respond to a lawyer, public worker, student etc. involved in the movement? That is excactly what this movement is about for me.
  10. I still love my wife the same and it has been worth it every step of the way.
  11. Fox news the same network that let Glenn Beck link President Obama to a terrorist organization. Cnn is also bias........ I would have to say yahoo leans Democrat. If you ever find an unbiased network let me know. I don't ever see a network being completly unbiased. That happened to be the first and last episode of Glenn Beck I watched.
  12. Glenn Beck, duh! Atleast that is what my family in law tells me.
  13. I use to instead of too alot. Prime example of why education needs to be reformed...
  14. They are considered persons now... Does God hold them accountable?
  15. Thank you for sharing your perspective Beefche! Sleep well friend...
  16. The workers are the driving force behind any company making a profit. Thus, they should be rewarded accordingly. To me it is stealing to pay workers minimum wage and make billions a year. If the 1% would just pay the 99% what they deserve welfare would practically be eliminated. Answer: Workers make the money for the company, so it is not stealing. It is just getting what they deserve.
  17. Christy Walton 24.5 Billion Jim Walton 21.1 Billion Alice Walton 20.9 Billion S. Robson Walton 20.5 Billion Walmart sure looks like they are required to pay workers minimum wage to secure a good profit.
  18. MOST corporations donate too increase profit. The highest corporation only gave 1.7% of their earnings to charity. Donations: Giving Statistics America's Most Generous Corporations - Forbes.com
  19. MM and I thought that corporations were suppose to be non-profit organizations full of love and charity.
  20. I agree with you Beefche it is theft for the 1% to not give the 99% their fair share of the pie.
  21. Read that article for clarification: Occupy Wall Street protesters are American patriots - CNN.com The movement atleast in my neck of the woods has no defined goals as of yet. They do not want to alienate anyone. See the press release from Occupy Arizona in a previous thread for more details. The main argument is the top 1% have such a ridiculous amount of wealth in comparison to the 99%. That gap is only growing year to year. If the wealth was divided more evenly America would be a better place. Why couldn't businesses be required to pay x amount of profit to the employees after expenses? They would still have their fat wallets and the workers would be happy. The statement that a person agrees to terms prior to accepting a job is true. However, they are essentially required to for survival. It has only gotten worse and worse, it is pure greed. "The day will come when our Republic will be an impossibility because wealth will be concentrated in the hands of a few. When that day comes, we must rely on the business of the best elements in the country to readjust the laws of the nation." -President James Madison To cut down the costs of education and healthcare we need to make changes. The top 1% need to be taxed more or the wealth needs to be divided more evenly so the 1% can afford both. We actually need to punish white collar criminals; which costs more dollars then any other type of crime. Lobbyists need to be removed from Washington so the people are actually represented. Those are just some of the things, I don't claim to know it all. The minimum wage needs to be raised and will come if the wealth is dispursed more evenly. To me I don't see alot of small businesses paying minimum wage; it is mostly greedy corporations.
