A lot of this is cultural.
 
I know in Utah for example, a lot of people (Mormons) marry in college after missions, have children right away and struggle.  BUT there are a lot of similar couples in the same boat, and in addition, a lot of family and community support for this lifestyle.  Clearly the "advice" of the GAs over the years has led to this lifestyle as interpreted by some on this forum.  Although careful reading of the quotations contain no specific injunctions to do this.
 
From what I have read and heard over the pulpit the GAs are cautious, because everyone is different.  And I don't blame them at all for the possible faulty interpretations of their counsel.  People hear what they want to and what suits their desires.
 
Clearly students are in debt statistically, nationwide.  How to deal with these debt levels has been elevated to a national crisis.  So to play that down as a problem is silly.  I'm sure church members are not immune to national trends despite possible anecdotal evidence to the contrary.
 
The reality is this:  Financial problems are one of the three leading causes of divorce. 
 
So why would you marry before you are fully prepared?  Have a plan that can at least mitigate that problem.  You'll have plenty of others! :)

Why would anyone answer a phone call from an unknown number.  I don't answer unavailable, anonymous, or any other thing I don't recognize.

Spend as much time at my summer home as possible. The whole family will be there the week of July 4th.
Fishing, BBQ, swimming, riding motorcycles, hiking, and participating in local 4th events.
My travel vacations are usually in the autumn or winter. Exception this year was visiting UK for Chelsea Flower and Garden show in London. Also did Portmeirion and Scotland.

I really don't think that cultural bias has anything to do with whether our leaders are prophets of God.  They are.
 
But the idea that somehow they're not influenced by their life experiences in what they say is a little silly because it's so obvious.

So JAG, what you're trying to say is that it wasn't really the student loan that was the problem it was your career choice?

I know that a lot of people say that socializing is not part of it.  I've always disagreed with that idea.
 
I think socializing is very much a part of the church experience.  Even making that occasional contact with someone one on one is socializing.
