  3. Bad weather on your vacation or at home? If it's at home, I guess I'll be reading A LOT MORE of your thoughts. Dr. T
  4. Thank you, Ray. You were actually correct; I was talking about Jesus' sacrifice/atonement for sins in that quotation. Adding the clarifying (Atonement) was not a problem in that quote. I just wanted to bring it up for future quotes just in case something is added that makes it look like something that I said, but in actuality did not. Thank you for being so gracious with that. :) Dr. T
  5. Josh, For someone on vacation, you sure spend a lot of time on the computer.
  6. "Describe it..." “explain it…”
  7. I think it also increases the number of good kids you could have. :)
  8. Lisajo you are great! Two quick questions: "How many times do you have to lie before you are considered a "lier"? 10? 5? 1? 2nd question: Have you ever lied? Would that make you a lier or not? I have lied, stolen, etc. That makes me a lier and a theif (at least) Dr. T
  9. That sure would be a long list. Does He get inundated with prayers and they get clogged up like junk e-mail? Hmmmm.
  10. Rosie, I like you. I'm glad there you've joined us here at LDS Talk. :)
  11. This just in from Beijing, according to the Xinhua news agency: Just thought you all needed to know about this newsflash. Dr. T
  12. quick note: (Maybe it would have been better for Decarte to have reasoned, "I think therefore thinking exists.")?Just trying to clarify, Dr. T
  13. Hi Ray, I have a request of you, Sir. When quoting something that I typed I am asking that when you insert something of your own into my quote, please do it with "[]" maks or by saying that "X" was added by you into my quote. This will make it known that even though you quoted something that I said, you changed/added to it and have included it into the quotation that you attributed to me. :) Or you can just quote what I said exactly and then add clarification or questions about what was meant in that quote outside of the quotations. I will appreciate that. Thank you in advance, Dr. T
  14. Rosie, You make me smile :) Dr. T
  15. Hi Ray, That is not in the scriptures and not an accurate assessment of salvation and willfully sinning. Paul points out, "Should I sin more so grace can abound?" Hey basically says, "Heck no!" Christians are not saying "I'm saved now I can do whatever I want." They are saying, "we are saved from all past sin, current sin and sin to come and because of that, I will try to become Christlike." Dr. T
  16. Maybe he prayed for a testimony about it. I'd guess that he prayed to God for confirmation of it and has recieved it. What do we do with that/now? Thanks, Dr. T
  17. That was great! As far as works are concerned and the idea that Christians can ignore all limitations on sin, that is a misconception that you have been fed somewhere. It looks like MDB is saying that works is not what saves you and it is God alone. When saved, the Christians "works" following godliness is not a requisite but an outpouring of his/her faith. Dr. T
  18. I'll have to find the verses that talk about sinfulness and see if we can show sin/accountablility. Don't have time now, but I'll look. Dr. T
  19. Hello Desire & Rosie and all, No, Des, what you described is a heresy called Sebelism. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are not one person. Others use another heresy called modelism thinking that God started out as the Father, became the Son and then became the H.S. This is also not an accurate representation of the Trinity. The Trinity says that there is one God. That one God is essentially three personages (Father, Son & Holy Spirit). Your reaction that "That doesn't make sense" when using Jesus' baptism is accurate if you hold that they are the same person. But as I tried to show above, that is not what the Trinity is. Have to run. Dr. T
  20. Hey Des, You said, You "know" that children before 8 don't sin." My children, all under 8-do sin in multiple ways. Can you give me support for your thought on that? Maybe you can define the word "sin" for us so that we are on the same page. Thank you, Dr. T
  21. Great question Desire, I have wondered about the LDS response to that and to the sin that was committed but never recognized (prior to knowledge that it was sinful). For example, the 4 or 5 year old that lied to someone. You wouldn't necessarily remember that sin yet it "is still on your record" as a sin since you never repented of it. I'm sure there are many things like that in our lives. Sin is sin, God is sinless/perfect. If we come to Him with any blemish, He would spit us out. How do you reconcile that? Thanks, Dr. T
  22. Hi Des, You misunderstand the concept of the Trinity. Maybe this diagram can help you: Dr. T

Hi smile_always, I wish my daughter was old enough to read your thoughts!
  24. Hey L.H. (I like using those initials-don't know why I didn't think of it for you) Do you think Thomas was seen as evil by the Lord? Thanks, Dr. T
