  1. Well, in Frontierville, I often have to club snakes or foxes to death.
  2. If anyone wants to be friends on FaceBook, I'm here: Kelly Mullins | Facebook
  3. Well that goes to show how bad my geography is. I had a layover there once and I'd thought that's what they told me at the time. Vancouver BC, that is. Sorry about that.
  4. I like Glenn Beck and still can't imagine him running for president.
  5. Maya, Vancouver is in both Washington and in Canada. I have a friend in Bellingham. I think that's right on the border too.
  6. Yeah, that's all great until you get a husband who won't eat vegetables. I guess I can be thankful I can cram bread into him to fill some holes.
  7. It's not like he's running for president. The whole thing was about God and love, not politics.
  8. What happened to her nose? Did she get a nose job?
  9. NO WAY. Joel Grey is Jennifer Grey's father? I saw him many moons ago in Caberet in San Francisco. I thought he was as gay as they come, although I guess I know a few gay guys who had kids. I thought he died... quite some time ago. Edited: No he didn't die, he was in the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
  10. Not when the next month mandarin oranges are 75 cents each and you never see them again for 2 for a buck. It's insurance against inflation. We have no money in the bank. We have no credit card or car payments, but we do have medical bills. Every time we get some money saved up, the car will break down or something. It's a cycle that never stops.
  11. I'm not new to this either (forumming that is). Welcome to the forum! It's good to have you.
  12. I can't believe how long it took me to get this joke-- I had to read it about 10 times. I absolutely hate these medications I'm on.
  13. Huh. I just read a couple days ago that Levi Johnston was going to do dancing with the stars. That would be awkward, wouldn't it?
  14. Does one of the GAs have a story from their childhood to guilt these boys into doing the right thing? Like the walking to school in the snow with cardboard cutouts in their shoes. My dad had one for every topic.
  15. Here's the whole speech: Glenn Beck - Current Events & Politics - Glenn Beck's 8/28 Restoring Honor Keynote Speech
  16. This is one of my favorite recipes. I make it with Jasmine or Basmati rice. You can marinate it for the hour, or just pop it in the oven. You can also put it in ziploc bags and freeze it with the marinade so you can just pull it out of the freezer, thaw it, and cook it. I buy low sodium soy sauce as a rule, and use thigh/leg quarters to save money. I keep meaning to try it without the butter, but have never gotten around to it. FORBIDDEN CITY CHICKEN 3/4 cup soy sauce 2 tablespoons butter -- melted 1 tablespoon curry powder 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1 garlic clove -- crushed 2 dashes Tabasco sauce 2 small broiler chickens -- split or 1 whole chicken (small) sesame seeds Arrange chicken halves skin side up in one layer in a baking pan. In a bowl, mix together everything but the sesame seeds. Spread the mixture over the chicken and chill for one hour To Freeze: Freeze it at this point. Remember, if you are freezing this raw, you must use FRESH chicken, not frozen, defrosted chicken! To Serve: Thaw chicken in the refrigerator Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Sprinkle some sesame seeds over the chicken and bake uncovered for one hour until chicken is golden (more time will probably be needed for a whole chicken)
  17. I have some items in my storage... like malted milk that I don't use on a daily basis because I like to be able to see my feet. But it would be a tremendous comfort "food" for me in an emergency. I'm thinking about re-packing it in jars with the foodsaver, but don't know if that'll be helping the storage time or making it worse.
  18. Absolutely. I think you should have 6 months of expenses saved, but not at the expense of food storage. It's easier to buy two cans of mandarin orange for a buck than to put that buck into a savings account.
  19. Our meetinghouse houses 3 wards, and I could not recognize a single person from the other two wards to save my life. When you fill out your tithing or fast offering envelope, you can write that you want xx funds to go to a particular purpose. I'm sure the church will set something up for this family.
  20. This is awful. My prayers are to the family and friends. There are uncountable times in my life I wish I could ctrl+z and go back a step to adjust things a bit.
  21. We had a returned missionary who sang a hymn in the middle of his talk once. It didn't phase me, but then I'm new. He really was not a great singer, but you gotta give him kudos for doing that in front of the entire ward. It certainly woke everyone up.
  22. There's a lot of items lately that are packaged in plastic now rather than cans or glass, and their expiration dates are only a year out instead of 2 or 3. Don't know what's up with that.
