  1. The first hour of Coast to Coast was dedicated to this last night, so I don't think you frightened anyone's socks off. Israel would be most unpopular if they tried to do this, but the only other option is to let Iran play their nuclear games. Funny, I was looking up the price of Geiger counters just this past weekend while watching a long documentary on Chernobyl.
  2. I believe it is, but then I believe a lot of things that some others think are nonsense.
  3. There's a guy in our ward that I swear was in every war since 1812, and has the longest testimony of it.
  4. Only a few minutes a day. It's a survival forum and we discuss global climate change and the end of the world as we know it. At first I thought this was a redundant post, and then realized I was on the wrong forum. LOL!
  5. HAHA! I'm not on the forum I thought I was. Here's the link that I was referencing. We were discussing it on another forum. Climate Change Fraud - Official: Satellite Failure Means Decade of Global Warming Data Doubtful
  6. NOAA is the one that just admitted that their satellite information was faulty. I have no doubt that we can control weather, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a weapon.
  7. I think he's possibly been through a rocky relationship before, so I wouldn't worry about the friend's warning. He's trying to be the best friend he can.
  8. I downloaded the Kindle software to my Blackberry and my PC. The Blackberry won't work for church or study, but it'll be fine for just reading at some point. I really like my books.
  9. If you're a subscriber to the Ensign, I think we're getting that temple magazine in leau of our October issue.
  10. Regardless of the temple or the LDS church, the Bible tells us to pay 10%. So for me, it was important to find a church I felt good giving my money to as a steward of God's money. I would rather my money go to paying for temples and helping the needy than to pay for a professional choir and the preacher's salary, the luxury vehicle, and spangled clothing allowance.
  11. I agree with all of that, but aren't tax-payer's dollars paying for this new mosque? I think it's a complete slap in the face, and we're going to take it.
  12. I think it's just the fact that the history books leave out a whole lot of things, and he tells "The rest of the story" behind the founding fathers and other historical happenings. So it's not exactly a restoration so much as a filling in of the blanks.
  13. Founders Fridays. He devotes the entire day to an aspect of American history.
  14. I go out of my way to NOT read the comments on articles. Once you read them, they're seared in your brain for forever. I just don't read them. Recently, my husband has forbid me to read the Voice of the Martyrs magazine because it just ticks me off beyond belief. I'm also thin-skinned and just can't stand reading the hatred filled posts by people who are clueless. Or Daryl and his brother Daryl.
  15. I noticed this and wondered myself.
  16. Sometimes too, the offensive posts are removed. I always try to figure out why people are banned, and I end up giving up.
  17. This is really weird. Personally, I like for people to think I'm truthful and speaking from my heart --not just trying to get a reaction.
  18. I was speaking of the original poster. I don't think I've seen him/her for a couple days. Unless that's you and you have a different username now. You don't need to be cranky about it.
  19. You're coming through loud and clear!
  20. Welcome to the forum Terri! It's good to have you here.
  21. I think there are two couples who run the cannery and storehouse. It's very small with only one canning machine. The wet pack cannery is elsewhere. Our ward goes once a month for the storehouse, and then once a month for the cannery on a rotation. At first, I thought she was replacing me because I was too slow. I didn't realize her workmanship until we got home and my husband told me. He'd be the first person to tell me if my work was sub par, but then he's got a lot more patience with me than I do with myself. It's also possible that this woman won't volunteer again. Maybe I am making a mountain out of a molehill.
  22. Then she shouldn't be volunteering for this job. There are plenty of others, and there is no shame in turning down a job that is beyond your capabilities. I have to take medication that randomly removes portions of my memory and leaves me looking like I've got Parkinson's. It's painful to get the exact ounces in the can, which is why I was relieved to pass the job off onto someone else. But at least I was still exacting. We're making a product that people are going to buy. I don't want to buy a #10 can of dehydrated carrots only to realize it's missing several ounces. And I would notice, because I'm going to be repacking all of it for the two of us. And I'll add that I sat next to her and talked for the hour and a half it takes us to get to the cannery. So I would have noticed if there was some apparent deficiency.
