  1. The guys who wrote South Park are writing the play?! Oh no...
  2. It's technically an animated GIF file, but this footage is incredible! You WILL be holding your breath for a moment.
  3. I'm tempted to say some Leaf's jokes now, but I'll set that aside... for now! Anyways, I agree that both the Wings still are very excellent at their game and that the Canucks (as much as I regret saying this) will probobly be the team to beat this season.
  4. I think it's just more professional to be clean shaven. 'nuff said.
  5. Okay, this whole problem of mine is lengthy, but I'll be as breif as possible. I have this friend in school who is not LDS. He's ADHD and Autistic, but a pretty good guy. He's been struggling lately in school because his parents were recently seperated. He lives with his mom now, and he's been dealing with it since. Last month, I had this dream of him, standing in front of me. I only remember him telling me he was converted, which I could easily notice that, because he looked healthier, more modestly dressed, but more importantly happily. I considered this as revelation of what my friend could become with the gospel in his life, as it could fix up all of his problems, so just last saturday, I decided to act on my dream and plan to get some elders to come over to his place and teach him about the church. There's one problem though. I live in a completely different community than my friend does, far from him (we still go to the same school though, but have different classes) and I don't know any elders in that area that would be able to teach him. However, I've got this idea on how to get my friend to learn about the church. Step 1) I've got his general address. Not the exact address, but just the street. To make up for this, I've got his home phone number, which could help elders track down his address. Step 2) On Tuesday, I'll be at my local chapel for YMs. I THINK I might be able to meet my missionaries then, and see if they can contact the elders that tract in my friends community. If I don't meet them then, I'll try this friday when the whole church will gather at our corn bust. Then Sunday if I don't meet them friday. Step 3) Help out my friend with questions about the church along the way and hopefully, encourage his baptisim. REALLY BIG, KEY NOTE: I DO NOT want to ask my friend about investigating the church, because he'll probobly say no, which in that case I'll still send the elders there, which could very much damage my friendship with him. I'm hoping that if the elders go directly to his place, he and his family will be more willing to learn about the gospel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Is this the right way to get my friend involved in missionary discussions, or do I need more planing and tweaking here and there. I could really use some help with my first real missionary expirence, and I really want my friend to join the church, because I'm sure that this will benifit him in the future.
  6. Welcome to the site! I'm sure you'll find what you need to include in this paper of yours here.
  7. Geez... they do know that bloodshot eyes does not always mean they're on drugs, right?

    Feeling lost

Jan, this is one of my quote that I live by, I hope it helps. Choose to do the other things Jan, because they are hard and will make you overall a much more stronger person. I can promise you that if you bear through these trials, you will be rewarded. Also, go to the temple. Trust me, doing baptisims for the dead is the greatest thing in my life.
  9. ^ (Westbro announces quran burning if pastor doesn't follow through on quarn burning) Oh no, why do these guys always make things worse. They do this kinda stuff at memorials for soldiers, Comic-con...If these guys are EVER going to protest on the Highway of Heroes up here while there's a procession, these guys are gonna get a good kick in the rear the Canadian way...
  10. Okay, so it isn't from YouTube, but it's from a video sharing site. Anyways, it's a very thoughtful video that I stumbled across, and I thought this was worth sharing. Anyway, here it is: The Human Voice
  11. Somebody should write a book. [br] Lethal Food
  12. Not attention span, more like 'awareness' attention. And I'd suggest you take a look, because it's awesome like this ->
  13. Simple, see how well you can pay attention. .
  14. I'm not really the guy to ask, but from a raw perspective, God wants us to have families. If that's what he wants, I'll do it. If it's not.... I'm still going to start a family of my own.
  15. I'd support PR campaigns, but the problem is that in my opinion televised brodcasts/commercials aren't a very effective way of getting the message through, unless they spark something controversial, which I doubt the church will ever do. Their Mormon messages thing is interesting though. Yes, I get your point, but some people will try to get the message twisted up. People have done it to me a million times. Side note: You want crazy? Check this out.
  16. It looks beautiful. I don't see the issue the locals have. Sure it's tall and all that, but there shouldn't be a problem as long as they're doing it legally. As for me, I can't wait for my own temple to be completed here in Calgary.
  17. I mean, even though they're sending these commercials downplaying these biases about them and their religion, these commercials are just going to cause more trouble. My mom always says that you're the one who can end the argument or not. What I see in the commercials (despite their good and best intentions) is the potential to just prolong this very controversial situation.
  18. Lovely, the 'make the target on you bigger' idea is a brilliant plan. *sarcasam intended* Fuel to the fire if you ask me.
  19. I went to early morning seminary when I was in Grade Nine. Since I've started going to high school, I now go to seminary later in the morning, and I have to say, I've felt way better going to to seminary now at a later time than having to wake up at 5 30 am for it.
  20. No, I did not know that. Thank's for the info. But still, that's also part of my concern. Sure the decent, sane people might not attack Muslims, but the crazy, self righteous people could stir some trouble.
  21. Okay, I may dislike Fox News, but that's too far. Somebody's gonna have the ultimate guilt trip, courtesy of Twitterers.
  22. Well, I'm actually quite serious, but I found an article on the internet relating to my last post. A man attacked a Muslim cab driver with a knife. The driver escpaed and the attacker was arrested, but I'm concerned that things could get worse. I'll post the link as soon as I find it. Edit: Here it is, it's not the original article that I read, but this is close enough. http://sify.com/news/us-man-charged-with-hate-crime-for-stabbing-muslim-cabbie-news-international-ki5x4ihdaac.html
  23. Agreed. There was some groaning around the family when my brother told us about Joki signing. Tanguay on the other hand could offset this. He might just get Iggy and Joki back to scoring more goals. As for Chicago, they're going down the gutter. 'nuff said. I wouldn't think so for either team will do well this year. Detroit still has their old players and they won't be able to rely on them much longer, and Ottawa probobly will do better, enough for a playoff contender, but I don't expect any surprises from either team.
