  1. There's one notch.
  2. Just barely.
  3. Since Honor put up the link, I'll close this thread.
  4. Hey, after the fifth birthday they all just start to blend together. I have to stop and calculate how many days in each month occasionally too.
  5. You wouldn't be talking about Helen Thomas would you?
  6. I have never seen or heard of tickets being made available through church sources. Personally, I don't care for Lagoon.
  7. Dash, please read post #74.:deadhorse:
  8. I don't know, it seems to me that if he were really as stupid as some people like to claim, that he never would have made it through Both Yale and Harvard. I'm guessing since I never attended either, but I'm willing to bet that both of those schools require their students to read books of some sort. Or maybe they relaxed their standards just for him? Maybe he just hired a democrat to read to him, because we all know how well they can read teleprompters.
  9. Put a wart on the end of that nose, and you've got a ringer for a match.
  10. Oh, well that makes everything she said all okay then. Because what a reporter or talking head does or says to reporters when they are 'off the clock' is no one else's business, right?
  11. And yet, you never became converted to the Gospel of Righteous Cars, determined to remain a Mopar guy. Too bad, he could have introduced you to the wonders of the GT-R, as near to Automotive Nirvana as an average man can become.
  12. Apparently she couldn't claim to have been misquoted after she was videotaped saying things about Jews needing to go back to Germany and Poland, where life was all peaches and cream for them back in the 1930s and '40s. Helen Thomas ends 5-decade career in controversy - Yahoo! News
  13. Only if he shuts his mouth about things he doesn't have a clue on.
  14. Keep trying, be patient, and don't act like they are being a burden on you and your time. Find ways to be of service to them. Even if they cancel on you, drop off some sort of item to let them know you care, maybe a copy of the First Presidency Message for the month, or a small plate of goodies and set it on their doorstep. Send cards on birthdays, express sincere appreciation to each family member for the things you see or hear they do, letting them know how much you care about them. Remember, they don't care how much you know, or how important you are in the outside world, they need to know that they and their welfare are important to you.
  15. Welcome to the site, I hope you enjoy it here.
  16. I don't see this as an either/or equation. We are who we are, and if those other denominations wish to act unChristian towards us, then they are the ones who will have to answer to Him about it. We see ourselves as Christ's true church, the one He told Joseph Smith to form, and He directs the affairs of His church through His prophets, whom we sustain and try our best to follow. I don't spend too much time worrying about how other Christian churches see us, but I do believe in treating them and their members as Christ would want us to treat any other Child of God. If they choose to distance themselves from us then that is their choice, and all we can do is treat them with the best kind of Christ-like love we can.
  17. I have heard this tactic used in various places. I'm not a fan, for many of the reasons already stated. The question I have is who gets to decide who isn't strong in the gospel? Just because someone goes to church every week doesn't mean they don't need home teachers. Do I have to go inactive to get a home teacher? It seems to me that taking away an important part of someone's support structure would weaken them. I would think that a strong core group slowly expanding would be better than a weak core group which loses its support system as soon as they are deemed by someone else to be strong. BTW, I am in my EQP and we have not heard of this concept being thrust upon us. Maybe it's an experiment in your area. We have a hard enough time getting our elders to visit the active members, the numbers will only go down if they take the active families out of the equation.
  18. Why do people think that musical or acting talent or celebrity automatically makes them experts on anything that goes on in the real world?
  19. I know that if the PAC-10 expands and Utah doesn't get an invite there will be Ute fans tossing themselves off bridges all over town. I think that BYU won't leave the MWC, but Boise State might be added, that becomes a greater possibility if Utah bolts. I also think that if these big expansions go through, many traditional rivalries will be killed off as a result. Your lame joke about the LDS Conference is just that, a lame joke.
  20. Let's not quibble about the origins of the phrase. I'm pretty sure that it's a universal given that when someone talks about a 'well-endowed' woman, they are talking about her having large breasts. Now that the definition portion of the discussion is settled, please keep this on-topic. And in good taste.
  21. Just for the record, his name is Just_A_Guy, not Just_A_Gay,slight spelling difference, big difference in how he defines himself.
  22. My coworker told me of the surprise he and his wife got when they went to Germany to pick up their son from his mission. They spent a couple days as guests of a local Branch President, whose aged parents lived nearby. The home included a swimming pool. They decided to take a dip in the pool, so they went to change. When they returned, the grandpa said he wanted to join them, so he went over to a corner of the house, stripped down to his birthday suit, and jumped into the pool with them. He swam a few laps, treaded water for a while, then got out and got dressed again, without any concern about who was looking or who he was with. No one in the family acted as if there was a thing unusual or wrong about this scenario, even the young grandchildren. My point is, we Americans sometimes get a little too uptight about seeing a naked body, we can't seem to do it without automatically being obligated to tie nakedness or near nakedness with some sort of sexual connotation. I don't know what the answer is, but it does seem silly at times the lengths we will go to avoid the suggestion of accidentally seeing someone's private parts.
  23. Hey, sometimes people forgot who they told the last tall tale to. It's best to tell the same story enough times that you actually believe it and it becomes a part of who you are.
  24. As MOE said, you're going to hell. You will be placed in the hottest place there and made to suffer more than anybody else. Accidental sins are the nastiest, and there will be no forgiveness, either in this world or the next. And while you're down there, say hi to my old friend Tommy, who once walked around the mall for 2 hours before noticing his fly was open. You will recognize him instantly, he'll be the guy trying to convince you he can get you a good deal on an air conditioner.
