Dessert: Chocolate cookie sheet cake...although I can't eat sweet anymore, but I can dream of it. Sound: The roar of the ocean. The louder the better. Scripture: This isn't exactly my favorite...but, it's one I needed to read today because of something that happened yesterday....so, for today it's my favorite. D&C 64:10 I, the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men. Movie: We go to the movies at least 3 times a week or more depending on how many new movies are out in our area. I don't have a favorite.

Question about studying Gospel topics from different sources
AngelMarvel replied to Lapalabrasinfin's topic in Advice Board
There is so much LDS information that I haven't read and need to understand, that I just don't bother with other faiths. I know where to find the truth... and stick to it. Love this Church. -
Marco and I would be interested in getting together for learning more about preparedness.

Shunned by LDS adult children
AngelMarvel replied to honeybee's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
I have no idea how common it is... my parents were not LDS and neither was I until I turned 17 years old. I lived with my parents and they took care of me for the first part of my growing years...and they lived with me and I took care of them in their elderly years until they passed. I have a very dysfunctional family...but, my parents and I were always very close. -
I hope I say this correctly...since I was in a car accident a month and a half ago, my brain doesn't think properly and words don't come out right...so I hope this does. Part of repenting is to turn away from sin. I feel that if you just go get married civilly so you are not breaking the LoC, then you really didn't give yourself that chance to "prove" to yourself that you turned away from sin. Once married you can have all the sex you want...but, that didn't give you the chance to turn away from the sin you are in. Does that make since? I think you also need to talk with the Bishop about this. If you think a year takes a long time to wait for a Temple marriage... just think how long it will take every time you "try" to not have sex... and you do...then you have to start the process of repentance all over again and that year starts all over again. I pray you make good decisions in this because marriage is hard enough without dragging bad things into it. God's blessings.

Do you take advantage of the Gospel Library app?
AngelMarvel replied to andypg's topic in General Discussion
I use it a lot...but, what I noticed is when in class, the people that have the hard copy of scriptures are the first ones that find what the teacher is asking us to look up. Not sure if that's because this is all pretty new to everyone and trying to find which icon and which book and which whatever to tap on takes up that much more time than to just flip open the pages. When I teach I always use hard copy. When I read by myself, I use hard copy because I like to take notes on the sides. When my husband and I read, we read from the Gospel Library. I do love that no matter where I go, I have every single book, magazine, video, etc at a finger tip. -
My daughter's revelation to attend public school
AngelMarvel replied to JacoJohnson's topic in Advice Board
I was thinking this same thing...except doing it in the other order. I would send her to school now until December and if things work out okay...continue on with school. If they are not okay, pull her out and home school. The reason I would do the public school first is starting a new year in school, children tend to start picking their friends and get bonded to them. If she does home schooling first, then she will come into school months after all the other children have bonded and she will have to try to fit in... almost like going to a new school and trying to fit in mid term. If she already has anxiety... it would be hard for her to go in as a newbie 3 months into the school year. I think if you are going to send her to public school at all, she has a better chance going in fresh with all the other children at the beginning of the new year. Keep it all in prayer.- 16 replies
