  1. have a ham and a license (reminder to self - better check to make sure it's current) and in spite of best intentions our stake could never seem to get a Ham Radio drill together...but for me, better safe than sorry
  2. Negative when they couldn't see it, negative when they can see it. so what else is new in the world of the anti's?
  3. Satan will even (seemingly) take the lead for awhile... And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. (Daniel 11:33-35)
  4. Well, just a few small, almost incidental things need to happen before He comes again - that is unless your pre-trib rapturing so I'm thinking we have a year or two - give or take a year or two :)

  7. losses take time, even with a knowledge of the atonement. and I know working and providing elder care doesn't make it any easier to find yourself again. Thanks for joining and hopefully this can become an outlet and a source of strength for you :)
  8. you've got the real estate, we've got the pure in heart, lets get together and work this thing out - after “The western boundries of the State of Missouri will be swept so clean of its inhabitants that, as President Young tells us, when we return to that place, ‘There will not be left so much as a yellow dog to wag his tail.’” (Prophetic Sayings of Heber C. Kimball to Sister Amanda H. Wilcox, n.p., n.d., p. 6.) [totally kidding of course] :)
  9. OK, I repent. I have heard of Kansas city. Just not in the context of Zion
  10. um, lets see...Kansas city, Kansas city...never heard of it!
  11. Since every book has an agenda and I wasn't alive 100 years ago...I'll just say I lean more toward the former than the latter., but that's just my opinion.
  12. lol, they've already built a temple in Zion - in Columbia S.C.
  13. Nothing says you can't, I was just trying to show you the purpose of partaking of the emblems of the sacrament. If your thinking of being baptized there is certainly nothing wrong with it.
  14. Sacrament meetings are open to any who would like to attend regardless of whether they're a member or not. However, if someone hasn't been baptized, partaking of the sacrament isn't necessary (it won't be renewing your baptismal covenant), and since we are witnessing to Heavenly Father that we are worthy of the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost - the gift of the Holy Ghost being given after baptism - it will be more of a token of respect if you know what I mean. Sacrament prayer said over the bread ~ O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son [baptized], and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them [his Spirit, meaning the Holy Ghost]. Amen.
  15. I can't speak for Charleston but around the upstate we're not so heavy on the "youse guys" types...but there may be more around Hilton Head and the other resort islands. We do have our share of snow birds in the winter but nothing like Florida. You folks have us beat by a country mile in that category.
  16. My youngest brother graduated (how, I don't know) from the college of Charleston and really liked the city even though he finally settled down in the upstate. I'm not much for cities myself but here's what I think I know. 1. in the summer the humidity in the low country... 2. They have excellent medical facilities at the Medical University of S.C. (MUSC). 3. Its rich in history and tradition 4. Charleston sits on a major fault line and in was hit by hurricane Hugo in 1989. 5. Not too far from Myrtle Beach Is there something more specific you want to know?
  17. The spirit of Neville Chamberlain has crossed the Atlantic and is alive and well in Washington DC
