  1. I can't tell if this is a correct/incorrect personal observation or not... has there been a reduced emphasis on food storage lately? Not that it isn't important, but I sure don't hear about it as much as "I think" I used to? I live outside of Utah too. Rewind 10-15 years ago I recall: Food Storage seminars at church, order forms being passed around church, community events around preparedness, talks about it constantly, etc. I wonder in part if this has to do with our inability to work at the cannery anymore??
  2. Three little thoughts EJ: 1. I personally never answer phone calls unless I know the exact person. A watered down version of this would be to never answer phone calls outside of your immediate area code. 2. Many of those calls are robocalls, automated calls. The idea is that once you pick up, it then lets a human know they should engage with you. If there is no human available at the time, it will hang up. Since it is a robocall, it will just keep trying again until it can connect two humans. If you wait it out, it might last about 1-2 weeks. 3. Robocalls are also used to verify that a number is active. Once you answer it, they know it is active and then can turn around and sell your number on a "verified active" list to other real solicitors. Point being for me. If it is someone I care to talk to, they will already be programmed in my phone OR they will leave a message and I can call them back. Good luck!
  3. I've been reminded that youth read lds.net. So in this case, I'm going to not comment further (nothing personal to you Omega) and hopefully this thread will just fall to the bottom of the list and be forgotten. If a mod/admin simply wants to delete this thread, I'm 100% okay with that too
  4. I'm in the same boat you are Lehi = No options tab. I remember LP describing it a while ago, but I simply don't have it either.
  5. So, you have probably already answered this question in some other thread buried deep in the forum... but, what did you think of the BOM PC? Just asking on a surface level and, no, this is not a baited question in case anyone wondered. Honestly, I'm just curious. Academic reading? Curiosity?
  6. Who started those threads? Yikes... my bad! I'll do better on my threads
  7. This whole situation reminds of the "things I don't know" in life. Thanks for sharing. It also reminds me of a s-u-p-e-r dumb rule on Ebay gift cards. You are limited to spend $500 on your gift card in a 30 day period. We had Ebay gift cards from work in the $1000 range. Won bids in the $700 range. Could only use $500 GC and had to cough up $200 real money. D-u-m-b!
  8. As long as it is only G or PG rated, I'm about to have lunch...
  9. Unfortunately plenty of "unprofessional" things happen in otherwise professional settings everyday around the world, not to mention adding: Constant physical touching, alone in a private room, semi/full nude, dim lights, etc. I went to a professional hair stylist, she cut my hair and made small talk. Zero issues. I went to another "professional" hair stylist, she too cut my hair but was more of a professional flirt (tip maybe?), was very personal in her questions, etc. I get my hair cut by wife now and have done so for years. We only really get massages while we are on trips/vacations, so we don't have the luxury of knowing our masseuse in advance. Are they a professional OR a professional flirt. We choose to only do them as a couple. Safety precaution.
  10. Wow - Justice League - unite! Autobots roll out! Very cool!
  11. I always enjoy your posts, they are never going to be simple and usually involve some kind of question that seems obvious to me, but apparently not to everyone.
  12. I would agree with this. After having tried/tested the waters from others, my wife and I have been able to take positive components from each and apply it personally. Far better with each other.
  13. Too funny, and right up my alley!
  14. Someone needs a "real" massage to become unsheltered.
  15. I wondered about this before...BUT... I'm just a little too weirded out by a guy. I know my personal hurdle to get over. I have had 3 types of woman massages: 1. Light and fluffy (pretty much a waste of time) poor girl probably weighed 90lbs, no force/pressure 2. Mid-range pressure - good(ish) 3. Hard (elbows in my back, crying for my momma) A Scandinavian lady with about 100lbs on me. I was a rag doll and "Helga" (I don't know her name, Helga seems to fit) was in charge.
  16. So first... of all the types of massages, I would pass on a "bull body massage", trampled does not sound appealing at all! Second, nice safety precaution you and your husband have in place. What type of "freak out" I wonder?? Chic - Le Freak (Freak Out)
  17. Yes, I did hear about this, I think this is one of the main goals. The "tanks" or chambers did look fairly small, so I could see a claustrophobic panic attack setting in for some folks.
  18. Just asked my wife again. She likes "Ponderizing Saints". Likes it because it gives here a "daily" quote / scripture. Little two second uplift for the day.
  19. Okay Eowyn. You can't leave me hanging now. What is the disturbing part? Salt make your shrivel up like a raisin? Basically floating like the old school Great Salt Lake pictures you see?
  20. I have just recently found out about SDTanks and haven't bothered to even figure out... what is inside that makes it weightlessness... Mormon Jell-O? I am this way with my primary care doctor, male only. In addition, even though a member of our Stake is a doctor in our area, I prefer to go someone unknown to me in my personal life.
  21. Oh trust me LP, I knew the moment I typed that, someone would jump on the double standard. My wife just saw this thread and left the room laughing at me and my jealous double standard too
  22. This might make all the difference. We have only done massages in day spas, not in clinical settings. I will mention, this not a regular thing for us, just on special occasions, otherwise we might break the bank.
  23. So, there have been some fairly intense (emotional) threads before, this is not one of them. My wife and I went to Miami a couple of months ago for her birthday. Her big thing is she loves massages at the day spa. I'm "okay" with them at best. I never feel like I'm really relaxed, always an edge of tension with a stranger touching me. I only will do couple massages and refuse to have a "male" for either of us. I did get tricked into getting a facial by myself while in Miami. I swore it was supposed to be a couples facial, but it wasn't. Apart from a massage, has any one tried a Sensory Deprivation Tank before? They seem a little different (hippie type). 1. Do you get massages? 2. Massages by the opposite sex? 3. Massages without a spouse? 4. Tried sensory deprivation tank before? 5. How do you feel about your spouse getting a massage without you? Just for fun thread, but obviously I've thought about it before
