Modest is Hottest: One-Piece Swimsuits Are Trending
Jojo Bags replied to Third Hour's topic in Third Hour Article Discussion
So, what you're saying is that Heavenly Father has waived His standards for modesty when it comes to swimming attire? It's OK to show cleavage and have clothing so tight you can see every ripple, bump, and curve? -

You'll have to take it up with those Church leaders who have taught this doctrine. It doesn't matter who it upsets if it's true.

You need to research the doctrine of election. Joseph Smith and other apostles and prophets taught that because of how valiant you were in the pre-existance, you earned the right to be born into the Church. Those who were mediocre or not valiant do not have that same blessing. They were born in places like the heathen countries. It may not seem fair, but this is based on how valiant you were.

Trying to salvage what's left of my marriage
Jojo Bags replied to mrs_teevee's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
First off, this didn't come on "suddenly." It's been building a long time. Secondly, I can almost guarantee you that he's into pornography. He displays all the signs. I know since I was addicted to the filth for 47 years. I just didn't have sexual relations outside of marriage. He can change if he wants to, but he must change for the right reasons. Otherwise, he will continue to have problems. It can be overcome; I know because I'm completely clean and have a strong marriage. However, you need to be prepared for some serious shocks and pain. His bishop needs to know everything if your husband hopes to overcome this. If he's serious about saving the marriage, and changing, he will need your help. It will be a long, tough road, but it can be done. -
The horror of encroaching public miseducation
Jojo Bags replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
This is literally right out o W. Cleon Shousen's book, "The Naked Communist.". In it he lists 45 goals of the Communist party. One of the goals is for the State to take children away from the corrupting influence of their parents. A couple of the goals no longer apply, but the communist have achieved or have almost achieved all of their goals. -
Im doing some research regarding the gift of discernment and I wanted to know your ideas as to what discernment is to you. What is its purpose? How is it used? How it strengthened?

How are one piece suits modest according to church standards? -
Heavenly Father generally keeps the unbelieving and the apathetic from gaining too much knowledge to protect them from sinning. If they were to get knowledge and reject it, they would fall under greater condemnation. This is very common for those who are what Joseph Smith referred to as, "too wise to be taught." Often, I have found these folks to be educated and "intellectuals" generally steeped in the wisdom and learning of the world. "Ever learning, but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth." Not all the time, but often.

Nope, not at all. When I was in the Army, I lived in both Grafenwöhr and Bayreuth back in the 80's and I knew some fine people. I worked closely with one guy from KRIPO on a drug operation involving some German citizens. He had more common sense in his little finger than most of the American soldiers I dealt with had in their entire body.

AND any male. There isn't a standard for women and another for men. No tight or too short or too low cut applies to both. -
I'm anti-anti-anything.

I find it interesting that anyone thinks that modern swimsuits come anywhere close to modest. The Gospel standards are no tight clothing, no low cut tops, and clothes should go to the knees. Modern swimsuits fail on all counts. -
Speculation re. the "how" of miracles
Jojo Bags replied to askandanswer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Joseph Smith taught that our mind is actually our spirit. As for miracles, a miracle is nothing more than a higher law of God that we do not understand superseding a lower telestial law. -
The Boy Scouts of today and the Boy Scouts of 45 years ago are two different organizations with a common background. The idea of homosexual scout masters and transgender scouts would have been laughed at when I was a kid. Todays scouting organization is becoming more about political correctness and appeasing the communist left. Correct Christian morals and standing on principles has taken a back seat to political correctness.

LDS Perspectives: Depression and Mental Health Myths
Jojo Bags replied to Third Hour's topic in Third Hour Article Discussion
I have nothing against psychologists who have their therapy based in Christ. I have turned to psychologists in the past and have been helped. It's the psychiatrists that I have a serious problem with. They have nothing to do with therapy; they are drug pushers. -

If you read any of my responses, you will see that I have suffered from several disorders, and I took the doctor path and the drug path. What healed me was faith in Christ and the power of the priesthood.
