You are not over reacting, you and your daughter we lied to by by those who are entrusted to tell you the truth, as well as those whom you should feel safe to do so. Sorry I wrote something to address before. Please accept my apology.

So sorry, I was responding to another thread and commented on this...seems I am just a screw up! So let me go back and see what this thread says and repent.
-
To the OP, did not read everything, but if you were lied too about why they asked for your daughter to come with them...you should confront them and go to the Bishop.

There is no line or "finish line". We rely on the Grace and Merits of Christ, and all he requires is that we keep moving forward, and if we "backslide" that we repent. The "finish line", the only finish line was crossed when Jesus Christ said; "it is finished". Without the Atonement, without the Gace of God (as stated in the BoM 2 Nephi chapter 9-10) we would all become angels to a devil. We are perfected in Christ, we cannot perfect ourselves, we cannot work ourselves into heaven. Our works certainly are required for exaltation, but only if aided by the Grace of our Savior, as we cannot save ourselves.

Each week, Nanny and Papa (my wife and I do the same) and usually all my children and spouses come, along with all our grandchildren. But we have no issues when they go elsewhere or when they just wish to stay home. It is "never" a bad idea to want to be alone with just the wife and kids, or the husband and kids; never.

How are we supposed to divide our worship of the Godhead?
Bill (Papa) Lee replied to a topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
We do worship him, in every prayer, being Sacrament, Sunday School, or Priesthood. Especially in our Sacrament prayers in His name as we speak of him twice in each prayer. We also wo ship Jesus Christ and God the Father as Christ taught us by addressing, Heavenly Father, and only Him in each prayer...as this is the way we honor Him. In addition we worship Father, Son and Holy Ghost as one God, defined in John Chapter 17, as we address the Father, as led by the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ. -
Health problems now, makes it almost impossible. I can hardly walk anymore, I have attended Church for on Sacrament meeting in 3 Months. I fear my diabities has already taken it toll on my right foot, just 6 months before my 60th birthday, when I had planned to submit my papers. I fear my time is past.

I was serving in the military when I joined the Church, and since also married with kids...there would be no traditional mission for Bro and Sis Lee. I had always wanted to serve with my wife, but health problems have made it not practical, unless we do a local mission here in Atlanta. But, I feel that I have become a missionary. I was reading an article about the size of theChurch at different times. Well when I joined the Church while living in (what was then, (West Germany) in 1979, ther were around 4,000,000 members at that time. I was given teaching opportunities while living for almost three there and our branch grew. Uopon returning to the Satates (Georgia) I was still teaching, gospel essentials and gospel dctrine, for almost 25 years. I have seen many baptized and seem many others baptized by other, I feel like a missionary. I have served more than once as a Ward Missionary, and baptized even more. Not not has the Church ncteased 4 fold Nationwide, but also here in Georgia. So do I need to try a service mission with bad health. Or just enjoy the service I have wrendered.

John speaks of the power and gift to know that Jesus is the Christ, to know the truth from lies, to use and heal by power of the Priesthood, to receive and have with us the gift of the Holy Ghost. As for witchcraft and the power to deceive and show wonders that will lead others away from God, this comes from Satan who can give and show counterfeit powers can give such power to confuse others into following paths that lead to destruction. This is evident of the armies of Pharoah being destroyed as they pursued Moses and the people of Israel. I recently was blessed by the power of the Priesthood in an powerful way. A true gift from heaven.

I spent 32 years in the same Ward and Stake. Just a few years into that Ward a new Bishop was called, after the meeting some friends were in the hallway questioning the judgement of that calling. We had small children and sat in the back row by the door in case we needed to take them out. I had seen my friends raise their hands to support and sustain the new Bishop. I listened for a moment to their comments and a friend turned to me and wanted to know if I agreed...I told them all, that I am not doing this! I added, "I raised my hand to sustain him, and I will not stand here and listen to this". A few of those friends apologized to me the next week, for trying to drag them into their criticisms and thanked me for teaching them a valuable lesson. We are commanded to "reframe from evil speaking of the Lord's anointed". There is much I struggle with and don't do well, but I am loyal to a fault, I am my father's son, and that was one of his greatest traits.

What do you do to quality for Spirit Prison?
Bill (Papa) Lee replied to a topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I would think those who never repent of serious sins and pretend to do so and lie about repentance to seek favor in the eyes of others. -
Difficult question to be sure, I know that those (as Christ stated) "offends one of these little ones, it would be better had he (or she) had never been born". Also when someone murders (especially with premeditation) they retard their life's journey and possible repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ's atonement. They commit the same sin as Cain, for which he received eternal damnation. Such person's are "turned over to reprobate minds", and unable to ever feel the enticing of the Holy Spirit. This might not be the case with all, especially where it concerns "crimes of passion". Either way, like all, we are in God's hands.

Happy 240th Birthday Prayer for America
Bill (Papa) Lee replied to prisonchaplain's topic in General Discussion
God will ever be mindful of this great Nation, as long as we are mindful of God. I served my country in the Army for eight years, and it was my honor to do so. May God grant us all the wisdom and the courage to always make her great. -

I had an account here for some time, but lost track of it. I used my screen name of "PA PA' for a long time, but I have gone a long time And I lost touch with it. Which It is odd because I use the same name and password on every site I take part in. Anyway, I am back, now I am, Bill (Papa) Lee. All for now, now I'm back,
