That is a good solution. Where I live we have a city well that offers both pure water and processed water.

You're right. That kind of mistake is inexcusable. Sorry about that. lol -

Are you implying that you beat your child with a wooden spoon? That is never justified. -
I would consider hyper concentrated caffeine as a "strong drink." e.g. RedBull

In a confined space? Good luck being able to see once your blast. lol -
Context is key: D&C 89:4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation

New security measures for church events
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Fether's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
The topic is not whether people should protect themselves or not. The point is that people are not allowed to carry a gun in the Conference Center for Conference. There are security procedures for a reason, so carry if you want, but not to General Conference. -

If he was a righteous man then I know he will be of great use in the Spirit World to accomplish God's purposes. To use a scripture again: Alma 14:9-13 And it came to pass that they took Alma and Amulek, and carried them forth to the place of martyrdom, that they might witness the destruction of those who were consumed by fire. And when Amulek saw the pains of the women and children who were consuming in the fire, he also was pained; and he said unto Alma: How can we witness this awful scene? Therefore let us stretch forth our hands, and exercise the power of God which is in us, and save them from the flames. But Alma said unto him: The Spirit constraineth me that I must not stretch forth mine hand; for behold the Lord receiveth them up unto himself, in glory; and he doth suffer that they may do this thing, or that the people may do this thing unto them, according to the hardness of their hearts, that the judgments which he shall exercise upon them in his wrath may be just; and the blood of the innocent shall stand as a witness against them, yea, and cry mightily against them at the last day. Now Amulek said unto Alma: Behold, perhaps they will burn us also. And Alma said: Be it according to the will of the Lord. But, behold, our work is not finished; therefore they burn us not. -

"No righteous man is ever taken before his time. In the case of the faithful Saints, they are simply transferred to other fields of labor." - President Joseph Fielding Smith, Funeral services for Elder Richard L. Evans, Thursday, November 4, 1971. Living in fear of what could happen seems like a sad existence. The Church has asked people to not bring guns into church buildings. That is good enough for me. -

Not looking for your approval. If the scripture fits, it fits. God tells us to avoid taking up the sword. There are times when it is needed. General Conference and Church are not those times. If people are are doing all they can to live as Saints then God will protect them, unless it is there time. Having been through a mass shooting I can testify that God's hand was there and protected those of us who survived. I have literally felt a hand from beyond the veil hold me to the floor and by doing so I was protected and witnessed the same protection over other people as well. So don't tell me that I have lost credibility because I posted scriptures. Argue if you must, but God's hand is over all His Saints and nothing will happen that is not in his plan and will. -

Just going to put these here: John 18 10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. 11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it? D&C 45 32 But my disciples shall stand in holy places, and shall not be moved; but among the wicked, men shall lift up their voices and curse God and die. 33 And there shall be earthquakes also in divers places, and many desolations; yet men will harden their hearts against me, and they will take up the sword, one against another, and they will kill one another. ---- 67 And the glory of the Lord shall be there, and the terror of the Lord also shall be there, insomuch that the wicked will not come unto it, and it shall be called Zion. 68 And it shall come to pass among the wicked, that every man that will not take his sword against his neighbor must needs flee unto Zion for safety. 69 And there shall be gathered unto it out of every nation under heaven; and it shall be the only people that shall not be at war one with another. Matthew 26 51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear. 52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. -

Allow me to clarify. I have no problem with someone carrying a concealed weapon. I simply think a General Conference is not the place to have one. Cheers and may you never need it. -

And what happens to the dozens of people behind the shooter when you open up on him? Leave your gun behind or stay home. -

Guns have no place in a religious building. But, just so you feel safer, know that Security officers are armed. If a bad guy started shooting and then other patrons started shooting how would the security and police know who a bad guy is? Also, turning the building into a shooting gallery is hardly a good idea. Leave your guns at home or don't come, those are your choices. -
India: 13,570 members Israel: 288 members I think it may be awhile in Israel, at least until the Israeli government changes rules on proselyting.

Not enough members in the holy land to support a temple and the work within it. Besides, if they announced one it would probably be in Tel Aviv.

Why assume that they all died. There are stories of people being caught up in this dispensation. I would not be surprised to learn that there are several translated people that are walking among us that were born in the early 1800s.

Living in the world, but not of the world.

I am speaking generally for that specific reason. I struggle with it every day. Otherwise i would have said, "Why is it so difficult for all the other members, except me to live this doctrine?" -
Living in the world, but not of the world.
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Emmanuel Goldstein's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
That is not what verse 16 says. It clearly says: "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." I try not to use ellipses, especially when it changes the meaning of scripture.
