  1. If only such a law could be passed here. Unfortunately, I don't see that ever happening.
  2. People should not have recorded this and sent it around to other people. Of course, some of them probably didn't know any better. But as the article says, it can be dangerous in that it can spread false doctrine.
  3. I never could understand the Word of Wisdom's prohibition on drinking tea. What is so wrong with tea?
  4. I am a Latter-day Saint. :)
  5. Oh ok. Thanks everyone!
  6. Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I had the missionary discussions. I am just wondering, do we inherit original sin from Adam and Eve or not?
  7. I am mentally handicapped and sometimes I wonder why God made me this way too. Sometimes I feel as though God does not love me as much as he loves others because he made me this way. But I know in my heart that he does in fact love me just as much as he loves others. He loves me with all of his heart. I know he does.
  8. I needed to read this. Thank you.
  9. Thank you everyone for your advice. Your advice is helpful. I appreciate it. :)
  10. Hi everyone. I was at a neighbor's apartment earlier and one of my other neighbors was there as well. They were talking about religion. Anyway, I was tempted to introduce the Mormon view of the topics in to the conversation but it would have been futile as both of my neighbors are fundamentalist Christians and the one would vehemently try to debunk what I say no matter how convincing I am. It is futile to debate with her. The other would be more open to what I had to say but would ultimately reject it, especially if she found out that I am a Mormon. So, I have two options in a case like this: agree with what they say so as to appear not to disagree and get in a futile debate or debate them with no chance of winning the debate which would probably be more of an argument than a debate anyway. What option should I have chose or should choose in the future?
  11. Just more evidence that the Great Apostasy really happened and that the Anglican Church was one of the churches that are in the apostasy. I hope that made sense.
  12. Congratulations LanPingPug!
  13. I would like to read this book. It sounds very interesting.
  14. Actually in Revelation, it does seem to describe a wall around the city but that could be talking about the New Jerusalem right?
  15. Wow. That is very interesting. Also, the fact that only the Marcionites were continuing the practice of baptism of the dead by the fourth century (according to the article) is even more proof of the reality of the Great Apostasy. I found that article to be very interesting and I just skimmed over it. Thank you. :) Do you have more articles?
  16. I just simply had this feeling in my heart that the Book of Mormon was true.
  17. No, I have not been excommunicated. I canceled my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a while back and I just got the letter yesterday saying that I had my membership canceled. This is unfortunate as I still want to be a Mormon. I didn't want to be one at the time that I wrote the letter though. So I have to go 6 months of being morally pure (meaning committing no major sins) and then my bishop will write a letter requesting me to be baptized and confirmed again. Then I have to go to a meeting with the high priests and stuff and they'll interview me to see if I am worthy of being baptized and confirmed again. This is going to really suck. One of the rules that I have to follow is starting Sunday I am limimted to only 30 minutes on the computer per day. That is going to really suck. All well, it'll be worth it.
  18. What about the Telestial Kingdom?
  19. I'd say that that is a good explanation! Thanks!
  20. Hi everyone. I have found a verse in the Bible that seems to refute the Mormon doctrine that man can become gods. It is Isaiah 43:10. How do we interpret this Bible verse? Isa 43:10 KJV Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
  21. No, it wasn't you. It was tubaloth that confused me. See his quote below:
  22. Thanks everyone! I'm still a little confused though. One poster said that they must go through Outer Darkness for a time. Is that true? I thought Outer Darkness was a permanent place for the sons of perdition? Also, wouldn't they not go to Outer Darkness but instead to Spirit Prison?
  23. Hi everyone. Do murderers get a chance to repent of their sins and go to one of the heavenly kingdoms when in the Spirit World or are they automatically condemned to Outer Darkness? Also, what if the murderer repents during this life?
  24. I'm for the death penalty but only for very serious cases such as first degree murders, terrorism, and mass murderers.
