  1. On that, my friend, we agree 10,000%.
  2. Dude! I was on the debate team too. Model UN, Chess club, and debate team! You can tell I was one of the cool kids. 😜
  3. That’s actually beautiful. I think Christ has more compassion and love than humans can fathom.
  4. Okay, then open it. Worked wonders for the Boy Scouts (who went bankrupt), the Catholic church (dioceses went bankrupt) and the US Olympic team (who didn’t go bankrupt, but have a world class PR problem), Penn State football (google ā€œJoe Paterno and Jerry Sandusky)… A lot of other churches are facing widespread legal, moral, and PR problems with it too. People are afraid to take their kids to church, let them play little league, or join other various youth groups. I’m all for exposing SA wherever you can. Go public, tell the media. Be careful though- because the stench of SA can affect everyone involved, even those who did nothing. It’s heartbreaking to me to see how it was so prevalent in churches. They were the only place for safety and peace for centuries.
  5. It is, because he’s so aggressive and confrontational. There is a lot of evidence he has a serious anger problem. The best way to confront a bully isn’t with love and cuddles. It’s with their own attitude right back at them. If he was less bombastic and obnoxious the left would still hate his politics (you aren’t wrong on that). Trump is your high school bully who, when you punch back (metaphorically), runs and tattles to his friends or a teacher and then acts shocked-shocked he got punched. Trump is the last guy on Earth who can say ā€œplay fair, be polite and nice.ā€ Nope. He wanted this, he got it.
  6. It’s not a Trump thing, he just gives them more ammo. The left focused on the misstatements and blunders of W, and the right did/does so with Biden.
  7. I actually agree with you there, but since all churches are also notorious for sweeping sexual abuse under the rug, it’s not a door you want to open.
  8. You are absolutely right, but it only works with those who are have the ability to engage in self critique. As a naive 20 year old I thought everyone could do that. I was wrong.
  9. I can point you in the right directions to get started. It’s not like an MLM scheme where I get money if someone signs up.
  10. I couldn’t agree more with the Harold Lee quote. Hosting an exchange student is a marvelous way to provide a volunteer service, and it takes place mostly in your own home. It’s a very unique way to volunteer your time-you volunteer at a soup kitchen, and you go home. You help chop wood for a member-and you go home. You clean the temple—and then you go home. With an exchange student, you live your life and then sort of do the heavy lifting at home!
  11. Same. The majority of LGBTQ parents/people want what the majority of all good people want-kids to be raised in a stable, loving home and not bounced around from parent to parent or worse, in foster care bounced around to 10 families a year.
  12. None. 90% of the LGTBQ community doesn’t care how you raise your kids. Sure, you’ll find 10% that fuss about it, but it’s only the radicals that have no sway over mainstream society.
  13. I totally agree, but just because you or I don’t like something doesn’t make it Satanic either.
  14. And you are way off base. I’ve never heard that before in my life.
  15. Out of the LGBT couples I know (granted not many) most have kids through IVF or other ways.
  16. Aww. So sorry bro.
  17. Could they be lapsed members? Nominal? Jack Mormons?
  18. Like you said, it’s a free country, but I also find it disgusting.
  19. I remember talking to a friend from India in the 2000’s who said the beauty of America is that the poor people are fat. Hee hee-but he raised a good point.
  20. The other really, really awkward truth about eugenics and overpopulation is that it was essentially started by rich white people to get rid of poor and colored people. It’s a bitter pill that advocates of those philosophies either ignore, dance around or flat out lie about. It’s like eating an only vegan diet. You seldom see poor people in Africa advocating for that. It’s always rich white people.
  21. I was with you 100% until this. Overpopulation is a myth, and you don’t need to be a right wing maniac to see it. I’m as pro LGBT as you can get (It’s a personal liberty issue to me) but I’m not stupid. https://www.cato.org/policy-report/november/december-2022/valuable-people-debunking-myth-overpopulation#:~:text=One of the most popular, human action and economic progress. https://www.sierraclub.org/washington/blog/2020/01/overpopulation-myth-and-its-dangerous-connotations
  22. While I agree with Lichtman (even though I’m voting libertarian) I worry that the left falls into the same trap as the right. They only agree with news they already agree with. I’m sure I could find professors/historians who think Trump will win too.
