  1. That, and even attempting virtue and failing is better than not trying. President Sam Kimball said he “liked the smell of tobacco smoke in church because it means people are trying.” I think smoking cigarettes is repulsive, but I’d rather you keep trying to quit rather than just giving up.
  2. I’m hearing more “gossip” (nothing but online rumors) that Newsom will run. I’m with @pam 100% that it scares me to death. He’e wrong 95% of the time, younger then Biden and far more likable. Not to us of course but certainly to his base. Probably to the suburbs too. Anyone else with me in missing Ronald Reagan now? :: sigh ::
  3. He deleted his account so you are responding for no reason other than to get the last word. Let it go.
  4. That’s fine, just know that they aren’t worried about if you respect them or not.
  5. I meant in this world. Not the afterlife. It’s nice and sweet to think that everyone is treated fairly and no one plays favorites. If you believe that, fine. But it’s not reality.
  6. Absolutely someone should be fired. If we lived in a perfect world. But the reality is that the rules don’t apply to everyone. If you have connections then then you can get away with a lot more. This is human nature and it’s true for every organization, including the ones we hold dearest. Sorry @Traveler.
  7. I was stunned by how few LDS are in the UK. Under 200,000? I thought that number was far higher. Out of those 200,000 how many are active? Wow! Was anyone else surprised by this?
  8. @Vort-does the rule on fasting apply to children and the elderly? While growing up the fasting rules in Catholicism didn’t apply to those over 65 or under 8.
  9. Yes I still fast, but not 24 hours without food. I’ll skip breakfast, skip lunch and then eat a normal dinner with no dessert. I do drink water during the day though.
  10. This is why I’m very skeptical about reports that crowds at Disney are shrinking. This was taken during the fireworks display Saturday night. It was as busy as possible-pre covid crowds. The other picture was taken in the parking garage going to Universal. This is from the garage, which is sort of far from the actual entrance from the park.
  11. Is It a challenge getting a cat in a harness?
  12. It’s tough. For someone as opinionated as me I’m oddly back and forth on this.
  13. It protects you from some lady busted at a DUI who claims you assaulted her. Among other things. Can you turn yours off?
  14. Is someone watching the monitors 24/7 or they only active in case a parent accuses a teacher or another student of abuse? I’m not wild about the idea either. However if my kid was accused of assaulting another and the camera showed my kid wasn’t involved I’d praise the cameras for being there.
  15. We get them all the time down here. As annoying as they might be, they are an incredible blessing to get the word out and tell others about missing elderly, children etcp
  16. My neighbors have a standard Schnauzer (sp?) that does that. It’s quite impressive to watch. That dog is smarter than guys I knew in college!
  17. I go a step further. If you have a very smart dog like a border collie you really should be herding sheep or other livestock. Both you and the dog will much much happier. Yes, there are exceptions-but really intelligent dogs need a job to do.
  18. Oh, I totally agree with you, especially for the more dominant breeds.
