Much of our decision making and life style is based on the information that we have in the present. And GOD in His wisdom allowed a lot of this stuff to be lost or forgotten. This has for the effect of lessening the penalty for failing. Who has GOD given a divorce to or not is not my affair. The only thing that I know it is hard for one to receive a divorce from GOD simply because it involves Spiritual matters in heaven as well as concerns on the earth. As for men...God does not need to give him a divorce...and He can allow a man to have more than one wife Spiritually even though the world has given him a divorce in the flesh. I am wondering here just how many Christians who are condemning the LDS and the FLDS for Polygamy where GOD may have allowed some of them to have more than one wife Spiritually even if they think that they are divorced from their first wife. Now to answer your post....Which also applies to me...Equally since I have not yet overcome the world......When we are not led by the Spirit of GOD ....who is there left for us to follow? If we count families who are dysfunctional with those who are divorced...it would be bring the total way up there. Well in history...foreign wives caused Israel to stray...one time GOD commanded Israel to put away their wives that were not of Israel. The wives of Solomon who were not of Israel caused Solomon to build them their own worshiping altars and allowed their priests to come also. This in time caused problems in Israel and it was an abomination unto God. Now having said this....It will not be easy. If you have the Love of GOD in your heart then you will act like Ruth who adopted the people and the God of her husband and that of Naomi his mother. For GOD does place the man Spiritually and in the flesh as the head of the family. If a wife is faithful to her husband and submit to her husband if he leads her astray he is the one who is primarily responsible for her before GOD. Love is Love and it is power. If one truly loves GOD with their heart and mind and strength they will be helped by GOD. I tell you the truth in the holy city mentioned in Revelation there is no gate that says Christian enter here. All twelve gates are named after the twelve tribes of Israel. On the gates one will find the name of the Apostle of that Gate, and the Stone representing that tribe. If one is not adopted into the Covenant of Abraham which carry the promises concerning those things...He/she cannot enter into it nor receive any portion of those promises. Learn to be led by the Spirit of GOD and you will be adopted into the New and Everlasting Covenant and thereby become heirs of the promises given to Abraham. bert10

IF they view you as damaged goods..then they do not understand the Scriptures...it is very hard to marry a divorced woman because one needs to be sure that GOD has granted the divorce in heaven. So it is not a view as such as being damaged...but being still married. It is said if one marries one who is put away or divorced he commits adultery. Matthew 5:31 - It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: Matthew 5:32 - But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery Pray for peace in your marriage and pray for GOD to remove his rage and jealousies. Rage is anger turned inward. God can heal this. And God can also heal Jealousies which is envy turned inwards. If one uses "Unconditional Love" coupled with praising and thanking GOD for every good and woes in our lives we can overcome all things of the world. Before I go...the reason why Jesus said the above is because the woman is the keeper of the Spiritual line in heaven as well and the physical line of her husband here on the earth. And this also explains why men can have many wives and women can have but one groom. This is also valid for us and the Church of GOD. Books do not have authority...the Spirit of GOD does though. We are commanded to read all good books that edify. And this one does. Today there are not many books that are written that Edify...but if anything that does Edify it is of GOD. God does not say to use the book of Jareneck instead of the bible or the BOM. Surely there must be a place in one's heart for books that testify of Christ, teach to love men and their neighbors, urge men to repent etc. And teaches that there are consequences to sin. bert10

Babylon is today's Civilization...and were are we to go? Well the opposite of Babylon is Zion. If one is near where Zion is to be set up...then going to the mountains would be foolish for them. But for others who are far away from places of safety the mountains are were we can go. The people of GOD often fled to the hills and mountains when destruction was imminent. The wicked shall also go there....for it is written... Isaiah 2:19 - And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. The difference between life and death is righteousness of the people who shall gather together. Where the pure in hearts are gathered so will Zion be found in their midst. The wicked who kept the kingdom of GOD from being established up until now shall be removed. All that God is asking of us is to get out of the way when the times come. bert10

Why argue? Anyone who uses worldly means to judge that book as another testimony of Jesus Christ will err. Just as the Christians who are trying to use worldly means to judge the BOM has another testimony of Jesus Christ. Truth is of the Spirit of Truth and only from the Spirit of truth. We do not need to judge it or view it as another testimony of Jesus Christ since it pertains to the land of England. Is it a GOOD BOOK to read? The answer is yes. Also all that we should be concerned with at the beginning...if it claims that Jesus is the Christ. That is He is the Son of GOD and the only name which we may be saved? - And that if it does also teach repentance, Love, forgiveness, compassion and mercy? And consequences to Sin? Then it is a good book if it fulfills those conditions. We do not have to accept it as another testimony of Jesus Christ. Again....Whether it is real or fictional it is still a good book. This book seem to parallel the BOM and it seems on the surface to teach the same lessons. For them who wish to know if it is true...then they should apply the same rules in knowing the truth concerning the BOM to that Book. bert10

You are right that to condemn things out of prejudice is not what LDS are about..for this is what GOD calls to be an "Unbeliever". Believers are they who first believe and then prove. God said for us to read good books. And any books that enjoins us to love GOD and teach that Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD, and to Repent and to forgive and to have mercy and compassion that teach consequences to Sin is a good book. Whether it is another testimony of Jesus Christ or not....does not need to be factored in for it to be considered as a good book. Again the Lord said...if anything teach that Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD, then it is of GOD. You can find this in the NT. bert10

I do have to work from time to time. It may not look like it. But God gave me the greatest job in the world...and it leaves me with lot's of time to do gospel study on the job. Except when I am on day shift as it gets busy at times. But then again I put my scriptures on my BB and can listen to it while I work. bert10

Anciently we only became impure if we touched something impure. The principle is the same today...as it was in the days of Adam and Eve. The Tree of knowledge of good and evil did not cause Adam and Eve to fall. It was the tasting of the tree of knowledge of GOOD and Evil that caused the fall. God Created all things. And Evil is simply the opposite of GOOD. What makes men righteous or evil is the partaking of the righteousness or the partaking of Evil. If a man partakes not of either the Lord said that he spew him out ....being neither warm nor cold. Do you understand how it works?....Evil must exist as the opposite of goodness. What raises hell on the earth or bring down heaven on it...the partaking of either evil or good. Think of Electricity as being the symbol for evil. As long as it is being contained in the wires....no harm can come to a person. But for anyone who is foolish enough to actually touch it with his finger...it will hurt him. Like I said Evil must exist in order that GOOD also exist. God is the Creator of all things including the good and the evil. But neither of them by themselves does anything until we decide to "Touch" one or the other. Whatever we decide to touch will bring forth fruits that will be either bitter or sweet. Revelation 3:15 - I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. Revelation 3:16 - So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. If our works originates from the darkness then it is evil its effect will be of the darkness...and if our works originates from the light...then it is good. Choices means to act in one way or another. And for those who might think that it is a good idea to sit on the fence...The Lord said He spew you out being neither hot nor cold. bert10

I think many are afflicted with FASD, they did not do well in school, and some have major social interaction problems, they cannot think straight and do not learn from their mistakes. There is no glory in helping these and at times we tend to think we are not doing any good. I know GOD did not ask us to help only those we think need it. We are to help all needy people no matter what we think. For who knows why a person is reduced to that state. Also if we give anything to a person with strings attached...we had better not call this charity. But buying even if it is only our peace of mind. Best of all is giving when we know we do not have any to spare. What worth is it to they who give from their excesses which belongs to GOD? bert10

Do a little bit of thinking here. Can GOOD exist without Evil? Can tranquility exist without violence? God does not force men to choose how to act. Their choice in choosing good or evil is left up to them. This is called eating from the tree of good and evil. Did not GOD explain this thing quite plainly to J. Smith and to us who are his people? That for one thing to exist and be measured, etc there must be its opposite. Did not GOD create the Universe with opposite? If there is a electron then there must be an positron, if there be Light which is also called truth then there must be darkness which is also called error. If there be matter than there must be anti-matter and so on. These things are truths and must exist side by side in order for us to have choices. Do you not believe scriptures of John which states quite clearly that not one thing was not created by the WORD. And do you not believe Isaiah whom the Lord quoted quite often in His ministry? Free agency is not affected. The choice that is laid Equally before us by GOD and the choices are GOOD or EVIL depending on their effects on us on our neighbors and of the will of GOD. And it is GOD that divided all things into opposites. Men cannot create evil though they can do evil and define the height and depth of it. God made sure we have a choice in all things. But GOD has the right to intervene in our agency if we have voluntered to go on a mission, or that we getting too deep in wickedness for our sakes as well as the sakes of those around us. bert10

Not really poor just average. I was making good money when GOD took me down a peg or two. But then again one ought to be careful what He asks GOD. When people pray to GOD to make them humble...they had better know what the word means. A lot of time our pride is tied to our social standing. And we do begin to care what people think. If I chose to have more money I could get another job. I have a lot of time off between my shifts. But I choose not. I have too much to do with the Scriptures. And this is my priority. Philippines? You gotta be kidding when there are so many homeless and hungry people in the USA? Perhaps there is no glory in starting a company and employing people instead in the USA. And probably very little glory and things to talk about....if he opens one more soup kitchen...because a lot of the people who are homeless have mental problems or addiction that they cannot break. Regardless these people are out of step with society and they may never catch up. They need help, now today. bert10

Because GOD created all things as well as the Opposite of all things. Why? because without the opposite of a thing...there would be no reference point by which we could measure, weight and evaluate. Power to do anything comes only from one Source and that source is GOD. And if GOD does not wish a certain thing to be done...then it does not get done. It is as simple as that. Good for your ward. I guess the millionaires there don't drive to church in luxury cars and do not have big houses and large estates. I dig that. They would be nice people to know and hang out with. I do not think we have any in our ward. I also live in a ward where most are farmers. The vast majority do not overdress or show off and they are easy to speak to. Stake is something else though. We are to judge by fruits. And this is how it works...the money spent in luxuries is money spent on pride which is our Ego and it is money that should have been used to help the poor. When we go into excesses...we rob the poor..because the wealth does not belong to us...it is still the Lord. That is why Jesus said for the rich for them it is hard to enter into the kingdom. We can identify what is Luxuries and distinguish between wants and needs. And for those who can't then there is no sin. We do not judge the individual. But if the church were perfect then One Mighty and Strong would not need to come and set the Church in order and give the children their inheritance. bert10
