  1. its unrealistic to think there is a single solution.
  2. I was not referriing to anything Alma said.
  3. Right, so "apparently" threats were made. Eventhough nobody knows for sure, 'if' or 'who' said anything we just know 'what' was said, riiiight. I smell a smear campaign.
  4. So no real quotes of threats made by specific people?
  5. If the Book of Mormon were made into film or game, it would definitly be rated R for Violence. I like War films or epic films like Gladiator and I feel there is a message to be learnt in films dipicting war and history. Senseless violence I dont enjoy at all or anything glamorizing violence, sex or profanity for that matter.
  6. Then that's not 'social justice', its 'charity' - doesn't matter where the money came from. When one decides to give of their possessions from the prompting of the heart its charity.
  7. People have been disobedient to the teahings of Christ since Cain killed Abel. But mixing govt and religion these days is never going to be a good thing. So again, had the Stake President not invited Reid (or any other politician to speak), there would've been no problem.
  8. LOL, are you serious?? I thought it was more like, 'giving from your heart!'
  9. I understand the church's stance to now embrace the name. The internet has pretty much forced it upon them, tieing the unwanted 'Mormon' brand name to many mistruths has enacted church leaders to clean up the image surrounding 'mormons' online which consisted of misinformation. And to many non-members , LDS and Mormons were not the same thing. The problem I see now lyes in the ease to commercialize and trivialize our identity.
  10. Just be humble, refrain from being judgemental, forgive them for any offences, and repent when you slip up on the first three things I've just mentioned and your sweet.
  11. Some race based cultures and traditions even today are in direct conflict to church teachings, marry someone not willing to abandon or compromise such activity would be a detriment to your own beliefs, if you believe in what the church teaches.
  12. Had the Stake President not invited Reid to speak, there would be no problem.
  13. This will be the case even physically (during that time) Light up a candle in the middle of a dark room and darkness leaves.
  14. Free Agency pretty much sums up Glenn Beck's take on 'social justice' and 'economical justice' to a tee.
  15. It's your sacasm that's probably driving men away.
  16. Scary, do you guys feel a collapse would be like... a 'good thing' tho as far as humilty goes, I mean we live in day and age where society openly rejects god, in favour for MTV and iphones. Agreed with above, be prepared.
  17. Yeah, coz Healthcare in Europe truly is FREE.
  18. I agree with Rico. Keeping in mind, churches can only teach principles and not forced them. There is always a choice.
  19. GB is the best (and I think God's hand is in it) thing to happen on TV. And I think he answered his critics rather well regarding 'social justice' in recent episodes. Lot of his comments reminded me of LDS church doctrine. Funny thing is if you search 'social justice' on lds.org you get barely any returns.
  20. Yeah, the church itself doesnt even believe in mere handouts with regards to needy member families utilizing welfare support.
  21. haha, no... but ill brb later to expand on my pov.
