Not really a rant thread, but looking at the humorous side of it all. Almost nearly all Elder's Quorums I've been in are pretty slack, hometeaching is low, lessons are last minute (with the lesson book passed around each week), the lessons nearly always consists of reading long passages of the handbook or scriptures being passed around, no PPIs, maybe just the first then nothing after, 1st Sunday of the month is ALWAYS priesthood blessing of the sick roleplay, and yeah I'm sure many of you get the picture.

Perhaps they mean they are conservative when it comes to telling the truth.

If what Glenn Beck's rally stood for, and everything he says is mere conspiracy theories n base-less accusations... then why the need to react, at all? Conspiracy theories always fizz out, and are short lived as far as making an actual impact goes but the opposition are reacting as if there is truth behind Beck's claims. it's straight up embarrassing to see the left get into a "my rally is bigger than your rally" fiasco.

Well, ask yourself this. What is the use of finding specifics if the intention (or the heart n soul is not right). Because the current specifics, strategies, methods are failing hard, we all know church doctrine regarding the cleansing of the soul to be worthy of blessing/prosperity. The rally was just that. Nothing more, nothing less, and just fyi GB does have a specific strategy too, and he traces it back to Calvin Coolidge for the inspiration.

He has - you just haven't seen enough of his show to know about it. He has dedicated entire shows during a week long series on specifics about solving the debt deficit, healthcare, the War. Now, go do your homework bro.

I don't think it is a normal everyday kinda guy's dream to get on national TV in todays world, and be labelled a Televangelist by your pairs and critics, critisized for being heavy on religious rhethoric is not something the average Latter-Day Saint aims towards, esp in the public eye - so I think Glenn would rather keep his religious (mormon) beliefs to his own personal circle (something we all tend to do?), than be put thru ridicule. But I think he knows we are all kidding ourselves (and kidding the lord), living in denial if we think we can all live happilly together both good/evil, slowly but surely moving away from God and expect to get out of the currect mess America (and the rest of the world) finds itself in economically. I believe Glenn also knows that teaching about America's greatness is crucial in solving it's problems. Like knowing your roots to determine what's ahead. But he needs to highlight everything from knowing this land is the promise land, and the lords promise about American falling into capitivity, a knowledge he has gained thru church doctrine and experience himself, which is an important truth for Americans to realize, but how to teach all that without quoting the Book of Mormon and pushing Mormonism is I feel the key.

Yeah if someone was to resemble a modern day Captain Moroni he'd be rocking a crew cut, wear 5 stars on his collar and a Colt 45mm in his holster, huh?
