MorningStar Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Am I the only person here who loves Arcade Fire? I discovered them when they performed with David Bowie for some benefit concert and I loved the song, but I thought he was just performing with a bunch of random musicians - I didn't know about this cool gigantic band. I looked up the song on YouTube and found lots of songs I liked. Quote
utcowboy Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Sorry MS, never heard of them, but then again I listen to a lot of country. :) Quote
MorningStar Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 They're Canadian. Or mostly Canadian. A cowboy listening to country??? I can't imagine. Quote
MorningStar Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 This is how I first saw them and I thought, "Oh, look! They let that Napoleon Dynamite looking guy in the band!" Turns out he's pretty talented! Quote
Truegrits Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 ~~~utcowboySorry MS, never heard of them, but then again I listen to a lot of country. :) Ditto. In fact, I wondered why in the world someone would like an arcade being on fire???? Quote
MorningStar Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 I bet video game widows would love it. Quote
utcowboy Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 MS... I tried, I really tried to watch the video, and I made it threw a minute or so... but its just not my kind of music.... But thank you for at least letting me try it :) Quote
pam Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 I thought this was a thread about an arcade catching on fire. I've never heard of them. lol Quote
Still_Small_Voice Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 This song is completely different from what you have posted MorningStar. Ever heard the song called El-Shaddai? I like how Amy Grant did the song. I posted it below: ArtistYou need to find it in the long list of Amy Grant's music. Quote

But thank you for at least letting me try it :) That's OK. My husband puts my radio on the country station in my van to get on my nerves. Wouldn't the world be boring if we all liked the same music?Do you think that guy looked like Napoleon Dynamite? Quote
MorningStar Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 Not bad at all. I love that one! It's very creative. My husband was just telling me the other day that he wants that one on his MP3 player.I think this one is funny with the two guys beating on helmets with drumsticks. I like this one because Regine is playing a hurdy gurdy (I think that's what it's called).YouTube - Arcade Fire - Keep The Car Running (BBC Radio 2 Session)And here they are on Letterman. The guy beating the drum cracks me up for some reason. Quote
