Churchmouse
Years ago there was a British comedy on PBS stations here. The story line was a young couple living in a plush suburb. They had all kinds of animals and plants in the back yard much to the displeasure of their older, wealthy next door neighbor. Does anyone remember the name of the show? I would like to request our local PBS to air them again. I've seen all of the "Keeping Up Appearances" and "As time Goes By" many times and would like a change. pam
Is it The Good Life?
Churchmouse
Bingo! I think that's it. Thanks Pam. This will probably be the shortest thread on the site:)
pam
And you didn't even need someone from the UK to answer it.
Churchmouse
Just have to know who to ask. That's why you get the big money.:)
Lost_one
I loved that show. The two main stars worked so well together.
Moksha
My two favorite British comedies were Rumpole of the Bailey and Wooster and Jeeves.
Dravin
Well, its not comedies but it does concern the BBC, I love most of their documentaries I've seen. If the Roman centurion has a British accent it's gonna be good.
Snow
Great series - not as good as Yes Minister, but still great.
Jamie123
I always loved The Good Life too. Another fantastic show from that period (or maybe a little earlier) was Dad's Army.

Churchmouse
The only ones I've ever seen aired in my area are "Keeping Up Appearances", "As Time Goes By", "Are You Being Served", "May To December", and "All Creatures Great And Small". Like them all.
