orrinjelo Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Did I introduce myself here? Anyway, I am Orrin Jelo (yes, that is my real *coughPENcough* name. I bet you can guess where I'm from if you say my name ten times fast. Let's see...I'm younger than 24 and older than 21. I often forget my age. And a RM from GERMANY! I've been lurking around this site hoping to make myself feel more comfortable (I get too comfy with another forum, where I hang out most of the time), but I'm warming up here. Oh, yeah... Welcome lilmiss and FrankJL!!!!
Dr T Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 welcome Orrin Jelo. I don't know where you are from.
Gabelma Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Hi - I live in North Scotland, I am English but my hubby is American.... I have 2 fantastic kids a precocious 3.5 year old daughter and a 7 month old son who loves pink and think sleep is for wimps, one day I dream of sleeping again. I am very much LDS but like to use ideas from other religions to enrich my families life. I haven't referred to myself as Christian for a long time though - Charley
Guest Brother Simon Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Hello everyone! My name is Simon. I was raised up to the age of 16 as a mere Christian by my parents, when I discovered and became a part of the LDS Church. I was baptized, confirmed, and recieved the priesthood. It was around a year later, regrettably, that my addiction to the study of theology and history caused me to ask myself and the bishop some very tough questions. The missionaries became involved, but nothing could help - my questions weren't being answered. I have been Catholic now for 4 years, and discerning a vocation to the consecrated life with the Friars of the Renewal. I am deeply grateful to the LDS Church for teaching me the values it holds so deeply at its core. I love my LDS brothers and sisters, and look forward to fellowshipping on these forums! Pax et bonum, Simon

pushka Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Yeah, I love that on this site you can talk about a whole range of subjects, and obviously lots of different opinions are expressed because of everybody's different religious/non-religious experiences. I think a lot of humour has been injected into the site over the last 12 months, which is refreshing. It also provides me with a little bit of spirituality, which I don't get in other areas of my life.

valkator Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Hi, everyone! I'm new to the forum and am happy to be here to learn more about the LDS path and to share insights with everyone. :)
Dr T Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Welcome Valkator :) === Orrin, I didn't see your post. I thought you we using a city name or something. Why does your name give a clue that it is Utah?
Guest Yediyd Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 The Jello, T.....that's ok....you'll catch on after a few thousand more post!!!! (wink)
Dr T Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 I know about "eating jello-green jello and all that" but the connection with Orrin? Hatch?
Guest Yediyd Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 I know about "eating jello-green jello and all that" but the connection with Orrin? Hatch?I'm not from Utah, but I was thinking Orange jello. (and teasing you, btw)
orrinjelo Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Lol-got it :)Sometimes, you just gotta say it ten times fast. Like I gave my sister the nickname Mike, because in a game, I asked, "What will your codename be?"She answered, "Mike Oldname?" LOLYeah, so I use Orrin Jelo in just about everything--except in things where I want to be subtle and secretive. Or Orrin Geuse. I think that's more clever, but I still use the other one more often.Or try Sherri Jelo, my IC sister. LOL. and no, I don't have a brother named Lyman or Laman or anything like that. X-P
