myway Posted June 4, 2009 Report Share Posted June 4, 2009 Hello everyone, Well I am a new member of the LDS Church. WE do not have alot of members in our little small town. I am also the only member in my family. A few days ago my youngest daughter, 10 yrs old. said something about trying to go to a Church. I advised her that she was more than welcome to go with me. She did not say much. The following day my wife, a non member, advised me that our children are "embarrased", about my belonging to the Church, but did not want to hurt my feelings about it. Well that kind of knocked me for a loop. I did not make a big deal of it because I do not want to scare the kids off from ever going to the Church. However, with warmth and courage, love and support, you can get through it. It will take a lot of humility, though, and a change of heart. It's hard, but I've seen whole families join. I am going to lay low about it. I figure I will just live the principles and remain prayerful about it. I figure once she sees the positive things about the Church, she will ease up a bit. You are better man there Charlie Brown.I don't think fighting about it is good either. Maybe later when your children are interested in being rebellious, they will think being LDS is a good option.
