hannah8 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I found out my Dad has cancer and we are going to have a hard time with bills. Would it be bad to link some t-shirts I will make on Cafe Press to help support us. I am not a member and my drawing skills are horrible but I still want to try. It is all I know how to do... Quote

john doe Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 My wife bought me a couple t-shirts that were printed up like that. They say 'cancer sucks!' I get comments on them almost every time I wear them. Quote

mlbrowninwa Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Sorry to hear your news. What kind of cancer is it? My dad has also been through long years of cancer treatment. Quote
Vort Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) · Hidden Hidden I'd like to get one that says "Alzheimers sucks"I'd like to get one that says "It sucks to have a split personality."But I wouldn't.P.S. Joking aside, I'm very sorry to hear about your father. My dad got cancer twelve or thirteen years ago, and found that others with the same type of cancer at the same stage lived from two months to two years. He's still alive and doing well at this point, which convinces me that his life is in God's hands and he lives at God's discretion. I suspect the same is true for your father. hannah8 Posted July 7, 2009 Author Report Posted July 7, 2009 My dad has Colon Cancer and is not a member of the church. I am not now but I wish I was most days. Oh well, I don't have very good artist skills so I'm sure my shirts won't sell. I was just going to do some primary shirts and have myself write something in crayon that says I Love Primary or I learn abdout heavenly Father in Primary. Something like that. I just don't really think I could sell them though. Oh well Quote
Hemidakota Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 The point of this, we have means to support your father through this crisis, whether it is spiritual or funds. Quote
Dr T Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 My father in law had that type of cancer and his PCA numbers were crazy high. He had his prostate removed and is now cancer free :) Quote
StallionMcBeastly Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 So sorry to hear the news. My prayers are with your family. Quote
lost87 Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 have you considered cancer treatment centers rather than traditional hospitals/doctors? There are several located throughout the US and I think all of them offer treatment regardless of a patients ability to pay. They are very well regarded and have very good results. Just know that the Lord is in control and loves you and your family very much. It is hard in times like these when we feel there isn't much we can do, but when we trust in the Lord and accept His will, whatever it is, then we find that whatever does happen can actually bring blessings.....I read in one of your posts that you are not a member, but wish most days that you were....ya know, you could be...perhaps it would be good for both you and your family to invite the missionaries over....you don't have to get baptized or anything if you choose not to, but it would be nice to have a spiritual support to help you get through the hard time. If that is something you think could be helpful, then assuming you are in the US or Canada you can call 1-888-537-6600 to request missionaries to stop by, or just to get some general information. Im praying for you father and your family. Quote
