pam Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 I just purchased tickets to see 2012. I'm really excited. Looks like a good movie but didn't realize it was so darn long. Almost 3 hours and I bought tickets for the 8:00 show tonight. Will let you all know how it is. Quote
pam Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 I just saw the previews of another movie coming out next week. Blind Side. That looks good too with Sandra Bullock. And of course I want to see Old Dogs with John Travolta and Robin Williams when it comes out. Quote

I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself :]I'm really wanting to see the new A Christmas Carol animated in 3D. I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan, I can only take him in small doses. But the movie itself looks very entertaining and hopefully will jumpstart my Holiday spirit!Today, at least, I think it's today.. A friend of mine gets to watch a private viewing of New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, this afternoon. The first one was alright, I don't mind waiting to see the sequel until it's out on DVD but I'll probably end up watching that one as well. Quote
pam Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 I didn't think that 2012 came out until Thanksgiving so was surprised to see it available. Well I got to thinking..I've purchased tickets already on line..but the wimp that I am..if it is snowing too bad I won't go. I really am a wimp when it comes to driving in snow. Quote

I'm a wimp when it comes to snow, period. This is only my second year learning to navigate and function in snowy weather :ÞBut yes, do report back if you get to seeing it! Edward Norton is in that movie, right? Quote
pam Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 I don't think so. The lead is John Cusack. Quote
Bini Posted November 14, 2009 Author Report Posted November 14, 2009 I don't think so. The lead is John Cusack.Or, erm, John Cusack. I always get those two actors mixed up. But now that I'm visualizing. Yep, you're right. Quote
Guest xforeverxmetalx Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 I want to see 2012 at some point myself... which is new because I rarely go to the theater, last time being for Knowing [yes I'm a huge fan of apocalpytic type themes]... so we'll see if that happens Quote
pam Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 I RARELY go to movies..so it has to be something that has really caught my interest for me to go. Quote
pam Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Okay I did go see 2012 tonight. Hmmmm..what to say. I thought the story was hmmm kind of out there and very predictable...but the special effects in the movie are worth seeing. They were pretty amazing. Quote
Hemidakota Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 I'm wanting to see Surrogates this weekend. I've liked most of Bruce Willis' movies and hopefully won't be disappointed by this one. If I don't see this I may opt to see Love Happens. I'm guessing it'll be a chick-flick but I've been known to be a sucker for those too :ÞAnyway, has anyone recently seen anything at the cinema worth seeing? Or movies you'd recommend renting? I have a nice three day weekend ahead of me :]2012...problems with some actors and dialog but the overall CGI was fanatastic. Good ideas for any destroying angel working for GOD in overhauling both coast lines. Quote
Bini Posted November 17, 2009 Author Report Posted November 17, 2009 Thanks for the updates, Pam and Hemidakota. I haven't seen it yet but considering it. I still have not seen the new A Christmas Carol but still would like to see it. I haven't really heard anyone talk about it and I'm not sure if that's a bad sign.. But I've been known to enjoy movies that others have hated and vice versa :] Quote
Hemidakota Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 You could view it online via the internet but this removes the funds needed to keep the movie houses open and people employed. Quote

pam Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Sorry I don't know what CGI stands for. Quote
Guest xforeverxmetalx Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 saw 2012 last night :] really nice, beginning was a bit boring I thought but maybe I was just impatient because the seats weren't too comfy very good overall though. Quote
pam Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 I went and saw The Blind Side today. I highly recommend it. It was a great movie. Quote
Moksha Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 I rarely go to the movies but I do want to see "The Invention of Lying" with Ricky Gervais when it comes out next month. What a great movie that was. My daughter and I loved it. We thought of the Man in the Sky next day at Church. Quote

pam Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 What a great movie that was. My daughter and I loved it. We thought of the Man in the Sky next day at Church. I thought it had way too much sexual overtones in it. Quote
pam Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Now watching it on the internet.... Can't wait to by the BlueRay DVD Ahhh so watching a boot legged version eh Hemi? Quote
Hemidakota Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Yes!!! It was better to see it in a newer movie theater when the seats are very comfortable [recliner types w/cup holders] and the audio was totally superb. You noticed, I deleted the internet tag to allow those who already watch it to view again from home. Quote
Moksha Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 I thought it had way too much sexual overtones in it. Not sure that could be be helped in a society that could only be totally honest, but you are right about an abundance of sexual overtone. Made me squeamish too. Quote
Bini Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Posted December 17, 2009 I give A Christmas Carol in 3D two thumbs up! And don't let Jim Carrey scare you off from seeing this! He does an excellent job of voice-acting and the graphics are just stunning. But probably more importantly, the film stays true to the original story quite well and in various aspects. I do not recommend it for young children, however, as it has some intense and creepy scenes.. In fact, during the show there were a couple kids that started crying because they got scared :[ Quote
pam Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 The one thing that would keep me from watching that is Jim Carrey himself. I am so totally not a fan. Quote
