Lindzluv Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) Hi, I'm Lindsey (with an E), not to be confused with another Lindsay :) I am from Southern California and moving to Draper Utah next year to live with my Aunt. If anyone is from that area, I would love to get the inside scoop. I've never lived in snow ... do I need to be worried? anyways, Hi everyone Edited November 10, 2009 by pam Quote
pam Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 I lived in Draper up until a year ago. Oh and btw..I noticed on your profile where you live. I grew up in San Diego. Quote
Lindzluv Posted November 10, 2009 Author Report Posted November 10, 2009 Hi Pam, thanks for saying hi, do you know the Sharp family? How is Draper? I've been there twice about 5 years ago when my Aunt was building her home but I don't remember a lot. I have a friend that lives in Sandy and I think thats not too far away. I'm nervous about driving in the snow though. How late in the year does it snow there? thanks, Lindsey Quote
Dr T Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Hello Lindsey. The snow in SLC is a good snow to drive in. It's fun, just go slow and practice for a little bit to see how your car reacts. Good luck. Quote
ryanh Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Coming from SD, IMO you should be far more worred about the temperatures that produce the snow rather than the snow itself! I love driving in the snow. I just don't like it when there are other drivers around me that I can't control, and who can't control themselves! Quote
Lindzluv Posted November 11, 2009 Author Report Posted November 11, 2009 Thanks for the advice. Quote
FunkyTown Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Welcome, Lindz. Hope you like Utah, though moving there from California will be a bit of a shock. Quote
Misshalfway Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 The snow really isn't that big of a deal and Draper is a really nice place. It's grown up and changed A LOT in the last decade. It tends to be a wealthier demographic than other places, but it has a beautiful temple now. And its a great central location. Easy access to Salt Lake, Provo, and Park City. Welcome to the site. Maya Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 (edited) Hi Lindsey and welcome. Snow is GREAT! Just be careful it will be fine and dont forget to change the wheels to winter ones! I know all about snow I am from Finland/Norway.. always 3-5 months snow here! Dont drive too close to the car in front of you, take the swins slow and pump the brakes if sliding.... So officially: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Edited November 12, 2009 by Maya Quote
