There have been many stories I have seen about him helping people and especially how much he does with children. I've just always liked him. He was a deputy sheriff in Florida, and he has applied to be one in Ohio as well. I may not care for the teams he plays for, but he does try to be a good citizen. It probably didn't help that when I first heard about it there was still hope that she might be found....and then I clicked a follow-up only to find out she'd been prostituted, raped, and killed and had probably dealt with her mother's abuse/neglect before but no one did squat for it. Guest Posted December 4, 2009 Report Share Posted December 4, 2009 I wish I could have found a transcript of that interview where he was showing off his house in Orlando to an interviewer and the interviewer said, this is one great house and he said, no, no, THAT is a great house (pointing to the Orlando LDS Temple). My friend's son's coach is Shaq's neighbor (when he still lived in Orlando) and is on the HOA board. Shaq's house is on a lake and he ordered truckloads of white sand to make his backyard like a beach. Unfortunately, that was against the HOA rules, so the HOA played hot-potato on who is going to tell Shaq. The coach ended up with the task so he unwillingly/fearfully approached Shaq about it and Shaq immediately said he is sorry for not reading the HOA rules and that he will correct it immediately. The sand was all gone before the week was up and the coach and his family has been invited to his backyard parties sans sand until he moved. He is good like that...
