I have tattoos.

I got them done when I didn't take the church seriously and was going through a strange point in my life.

And now I kind of regret having them.

I have thought about having them removed, but they have also been a physical reminder to me of past mistakes, so to speak.

Do any of you have tattoos (or have had them removed)?

Thoughts on this?

I have three, and I like all three of them. I may get more in the future.

Thank you!

Ugh not another thread on tattoos. All they do is get contentious and we end up having to close them.

The above quote is from Pam. SORRY! I wasn't aware that there were so many before. I should have done my homework first.

I had my share of "wild days" and I also have a few marks. I think it was a mistake and when I see them I am reminded. I would like to have them removed but the cost has kept me regretting what I did. Not just because of church officials or anything. Just reminds me of a very sad point in my life when I made some terrible mistakes. Perhaps, if I considered it "art" or something, but I don't. I can't think of anyone, male or female, who looks better because of them.

hehe you are new. You'll learn the ropes eventually. :P But considering your avatar..I'd think you would know a thing or two about ropes.

I have four tattoos including the one that says phatbac (true story). I liked the tattoos at the time i got them and i like them now because they have been with me and remind me of parts of my past and where i have been. I would not get another one because we have been counsled not to. but after giving the subject much thought i would not remove the tattoos because i cant change where i have been nor would i because where i have been and what i have done has formed me into the man I am today.

I also have a tattoo. I'm not an active member. But, The tattoo reflects part of my life journey, it's not offensive (unless you don't like ferrets), and it isn't something I feel called to have removed. I probably won't get anymore.

I went through a phase of wanting tattoos. In retrospect I'm glad I didn't. I almost got my hubby's name tattooed on me but the tattoo artist had more commonsense than I did and said no.

Lol.

I have some, I don't regret them and i actually like them even after becoming a member. However, I probably won't get more because we've been counseled not to. I'd rather not rock the boat, as much as I like tattoos and would enjoy getting more, I don't like them so much that I would cause others to raise questions about my faithfulness. Just not worth it, so I gave up on getting more.

Mine aren't visible under modest clothing so I suppose that could be why it doesn't bother me as much as it might other converts who have them. If you really want them removed and have the cash for it, go for it! But you had better want it badly, it looks like tattoo removal hurts.

I have a tatoo and have no issue with it. It's a small heart bottom center of my back (waist area). I would love to get both my boys name tatooed there as well next to the heart.
