I know people believe God helps them and tells them things through the Holy Ghost. My question is do you believe he helps you in any other ways? I know some people believe their loved ones are watching over them. Do you believe everyone who dies or who has not been born yet are helping those in the world? If so, who do you believe they are helping and how? Also do you believe there are guardian angels or what do you believe a guardian angel is? Basically other than the Holy Ghost, how do you believe you are helped if at all?

I believe it starts with what you pray for help about. Since Satan and his angels are putting up road blocks intending to forcibly take away our agency (addictions and such), as we stive to keep our agency those road blocks might be removed. I think it's pretty much open to any help we need to overcome his attempts to remove our agency.

I'm glad you brought that up about evil spirits. That too was something I wanted to ask about. How do you believe evil spirits try to tempt/harm you besides just putting thoughts into your mind?

the encyclopedia of mormonism explains it well but basically, Heavenly father affords us protection through the light of christ and the holy ghost (for those who have the gift of it) by giving us warnings in the spirit of prophesy. only in rare instances will angels be sent to fulfill his purposes.

One example is when conditions are such that death is the result that (for reasons I do not pretend to understand fully) physical things are altered to prevent the resultant death.

I believe the only way they can do it is through our physical senses... or our bodies.

I believe the spirits are just as involved in the plan as God, Jesus Christ and ourselves. Those still waiting to receive their bodies and those who have passed on as well as the angels of the devil. They can help us along by communicating in whatever way possible.

And just a thought- as far as the evil spirits go: Remember that one third of the hosts of heaven left with Satan. That means, he could "assign" one spirit to two people to get to know them personally and wittle away at them. But then, all of our two-thirds are not on the earth at the same time. Many have lived before us, many are still to come, and many spirits receive bodies on other worlds. So really, the odds are tipped more in their favor.

This can seem overwhelming, realizing that you may have several spirits following your every move and determining just how to work away at your weaknesses, but we should also remember that we are stronger than they are. Our bodies are the source of many of our weaknesses, the physical pull of the flesh leading us away from things spiritual, but it is also our strength. Satan and his followers are jealous, because we have something they do not. A body. And it is our bodies that we needed to become more like God. Thinking about that, knowing that mastery of our physical desires will bring us closer to God, makes it sound far better. These spirits have no power over us if we do not surrender that power to them.

And we have help. From Jesus Christ himself, from the Holy Ghost, from our friends and family on this earth, and from the many other spirits not presently on the earth. We aren't alone.

I have a guardian spirit cell phone. It protects me magnoelectronically by preventing the govt. from reading my thoughts.

Often times God will influence those around you if he can't get something through to you... especially at sacrament meeting.

While I haven't seen any heavenly beings personally.. I do know others who have.

I don't think that when our loved ones die they are sitting on clouds all day. I believe that they are extremely involved in our lives. Perhaps they don't manifest themselves to us in obvious ways, but I believe that spirits do watch over us, support us, and are there for us, just like the Holy Ghost.

I had an experience when I was about 9 years old. A spirit/angel saved me from falling down the basement stairs. I didn't see it, but I felt it push against my elbow to lift me back up. There is no other explanation for how I managed to right myself again. I'd been putting on rollerblades to go outside, slipped when I stood, and should have tumbled backward down the stairs. No-one else was there, and I felt the pressure on my elbow. I'm very greatful that whoever that was had been there to help me.

I had an encounter with an angel, or some spiritual being sent from God.

Here is my story: One spoke to me through a sleeping child, at 3am. I was walking down a hallway and a child sprang up asleep (kneeling), not facing me (not even knowing of my being present), and spoke clearly to change the course of my entire life. The small child spoke 7 very clear, very intelligent, very direct words that stopped me from making a bad decision I was just about to make in mere minutes after contemplating something all night. I contemplated, made my mind up, walked by and bam, an angel raised the child, spoke the words, then silence.

Keep in mind this was the most immature, silly, and young child that never spoke words like this, could not read minds and didn't know I was there, or my situation.

After the child spoke these words, the child paused for a few seconds while I was stunned, and fell face forward back in bed. I paced with awe, i was in shock and my life has never been the same. God can merely speak something and change your entire life. He knows exactly what to say, when to say it and how to get directly to the point.

I asked the child, "What did you say?" "Why did you say that?" "Hey, wake up!" Nothing. The child was asleep and the angel was either not present, or not authorized to speak any longer. Perhaps it was Jesus, perhaps an angel, I have no idea. But I do know, it was NOT the child.

What puzzles me is that I was not yet saved; months, perhaps weeks later, I was born again.
