Additional earthquakes aren't all that out of the ordinary. My understanding is that major earthquakes occur when tectonic plates are resettling. Given the size of tectonic plates, they won't settle all that quickly, and you'll see major earthquakes around the edges of the plate until the plates are done settling.

Considering that it was in Indonesia where tectonic plates are still moving, it's no surprise at all, and it could easily be an aftershock to the one that created the destructive tsunami. Yes, aftershocks can and do hit years after the original earthquake. It just happens that the earth is experiencing an active stage in plate tectonics, just as climate goes in cycles, but it doesn't mean anything. After all, with the world media we have now, we hear about earthquakes and other disasters as they happen. Indonesia, Chile, Haiti, and the Pacific coast, including the Baja peninsula are on plate boundaries, so earthquakes are nothing unusual at all.

I tend to believe the Scripture that says that Christ will return "like a thief in the night" meaning that we have no idea when He will return. As a result, I don't believe in prophesying the end of the world, or that the "increase" in earthquakes means that the end is coming.

Additional tremors in one area are not out of the ordinary. Having many quakes spread around, IS out of the ordinary.

Given the number of large earthquakes around the globe in the past few months, I'm thinking my predictions I made several years ago regarding D&C 87 are coming to pass. You can read about it here: DC87 - Life, the Universe, and Etcetera

In it, I review how it predicts the Civil War, the World Wars, the fall of the Soviet Union, and the rise of Islamic terrorists. After these events, if I read them properly, we enter into the time of great upheavals and destructions, where we are instructed to "stand in holy places."

Maybe if the First Presidency would put out a map of the Holy Places? Someone who knows someone who knows someone's second cousin in the church office building should make that suggestion :P
