WindRiver Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 How many times a week do you:1 - Pocket Dial someone2 - Receive a Pocket Dialed callThose of you with clamshell type phones probably can only answer part 2 and 3 and part 3 the bonus round....Tell the most interesting, embarrassing or funny, etc. pocket dial or accidental voice mail you have received / sent.Pocket dialing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote
Lbybug Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 1- never 2- once a year if i'm lucky 3- no interesting stories I figure this means either 1-the people I know with cell phones, have awesome phones that don't pocket dial 2- the people I know with cell phones don't keep their phones in their pockets 3- nobody that I know has me programmed into their phones, so I miss out on all the pocket dialing. pam Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 Hey hey hey hey..I have you programmed into my phone. Just that my phone has a safety thing so it won't pocket call. Quote
pam Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 I did used to get pocket calls from Snow quite often. I seriously wanted to listen in as I knew most of the time those calls were while he was at work. But I just couldn't. Quote
Lbybug Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 see then pam, you fit into my #1.....because you ARE number 1 in my eyes Quote
Dravin Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I've never pocket dialed even though I've a touch screen phone, nor can I recall receiving one. Quote
Moksha Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I've never pocket dialed even though I've a touch screen phone, nor can I recall receiving one. Good thing you don't have mean pockets that would make crank calls. Quote
ADoyle90815 Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I've gotten calls that way, but my phone doesn't do that. The only thing I've had are "pocket" pictures taken, when the camera feature was triggered. Quote
Bini Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Um.. When did "flip-phones" become "clam-shell phones"? Quote
Dravin Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) Um.. When did "flip-phones" become "clam-shell phones"? When ever some people decided to call them that. IMHO they're both valid descriptions or one of the key characteristics of the phones. Though to be fair a clamshell phone makes me think of one with a hinge on the side, a flip-phone with the hinge up top. Edited April 18, 2010 by Dravin Quote
Bini Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 You're right, Dravin. It's funny how the internet has become the "interweb" over the last few years, a trendy name that I've caught onto using, along with the hundreds of other people online I suppose. Still, "clam-shell" sounds ridiculous. Just another selling gimmick/point I guess. Quote
Tarnished Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 1. I tend to pocket dial people every so often, this usually happens when I have my bluetooth in my pocket and it actually dials people. 2. I tend to get a lot of pocket dial calls from my husband, he likes to carry his bluetooth in his pocket and his phone really likes me. There have been some days where I will find that I had three calls from him that I missed and I will find that all three were pocket dials. Sometimes I catch them and then call him back asking if he just called. Usually all that I hear is a lot of rustling, sometimes the radio, and very often the book on tape that he is listening to as he drives to work. 3. Never had a really interesting one, however I have had some instances where I was on a call with someone and when it came time to hang up I never did and just listened to see if they were going to hang up. Those have lead to interesting things to overhear. Quote
