gabelpa
Depends on the publication. The more professional, the less I would want to see it. Twitter, facebook, blogs, maybe. Professional journals, novels, newspaper articles, no way. It also is one of the most unprofessional marks I have ever seen.
hordak
Heck yeah, I'm going to buy punctuation ^ Don't need the sarc mark after all:D
MarginOfError
wouldn't it defeat the purpose and entertainment value of sarcasm to display that it's in use?
Tarnished
I do not think I would use it. Sarcasm is kind of like a joke, if you have to explain it then it really falls flat. The SarcMark does just that, it explains the sarcasm. I highly doubt that it will become well used.
Guest mormonmusic
I wouldn't use it either. I can be REALLY sarcastic and its hurt people's feelings. So I self-censor and try to curb its use. It reminds me a bit of the frownie, the punctuation mark that used to be used at a site called descenders dotc om -- a site that makes a living out of negativity and cynicism, and not suprisingly, seems to be out of business now!. gabelpa
There's already a "sarcasm" punctuation mark out there, called the Irony Mark. Look it up on wikipedia. Another one to look up is the interrobang.
