theoriginalavatar Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 my last thread wasn't exactly jolly, so i would like to start another thread asking for help...as some of you may know, i am a HUGE fan of Little House on the Prairie...i have watched all 8 seasons many, many times, but there is something that i have never been able to figure out and i wish to ask for your help if you are able...i have always wanted a hat like the one michael landon wore in the little house series (or even the one merlin olsen wore), but i have never been able to find out where it was found for the series or what name brand or anything.i have searched high and low on the internet and found a few leads that ended up going no where.perhaps they made the hats specifically for the series?do any of you out there have any information on this? i know it seems a small thing, but it would mean a lot to me if i could find one like it.i have even visited several western stores in the vegas area, and i have found hats kind of like it, but nothing that is very close. theoriginalavatar Posted July 11, 2010 Author Report Posted July 11, 2010 Is it a Stetson western hat?i thought it might be...but i have never found a stetson that looked like it...maybe they discontinued that type, or it was something different all together? Quote

theoriginalavatar Posted July 11, 2010 Author Report Posted July 11, 2010 TOA stock up on the grass and hay. we all have things we have wanted to do growing up, but mine has never changed...(true i love the idea of being a cop and other things, but one has always stood out...)i have always wanted to be a farmer.some people are glad to have born in the time they are, and others think another time more suitable, and i am definately in the latter category.ever since i was a little boy, i have always daydreamed about being a good, old-fashioned farmer.it is hard work, i'm sure! wake up at before the first light...work in the fields all day...come home to a warm supper when it gets dark...get good clean dirt on your hands and under your nails...but you lay your head on the pillow and know that you have done a good, hard day's work...something about which you can be proud...the modern age of computers and iphones and such has never suited me.some day i will move to ohio or minnesota or wisconson, mark my word. i will never be able to wipe the smile off my face when i do. miztrniceguy Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I dunno. But I do know that you haven't lived until you've read the entire Little House series. My wife is a huge fan of Little House, but refuses to watch the tv show in fear that it would spoil (substitute a word similar to mustardize that starts with a ba) what she read in the books. She is such a huge fan that the setting for her second book is a fictional Inn called Whittaker House located in Mansfield, MO where Laura lived after leaving The Prairie. Quote

AND...despite michael landon lacking the long beard that the actual charles ingalls had, he does make an exceptional "pa" in my book. thank you for your comments.... Quote

Tiny thimbles, gigantic thimbles. Chromed thimbles, brass thimbles. Plain thimbles and thimbles with cool things written on them like What Happens in Reno, Stays in Reno. Antique thimbles, left handed thimbles and thimbles once owned by seamstresses names Mary.If I have any time left over after collecting thimbles, I spend it collecting angel figurines or thinking about angels or posting pictures on the internet of angels... oh, and cats. I love cats. Quote
