How in the world do you fold fitted bottom sheets?

This may sound like a silly question, but now that fitted bottom sheets are so huge, I'm having a heck of a time folding them so they look nice and neat when I place them on the shelf in my cupboard. Does anyone have any "magic" tricks up their sleeve that they use? Or am I the only one who is perplexed by these humongous pieces of fabric, that no matter what I do, it looks like a little kid has pulled them from the dryer, and then just bunched them up and threw them on the closet shelf?

Yeah, you need to go to trade school to learn how to fold those things!

But, here's what I do...

I put the sheet upside down on the bed (wrong side up), then starting from the line on the corners, I fold the edges in so that it forms an "inner square". My fitted sheets are 18 inches deep, so I fold 18 inches from the edge to form the "inner square"... no, I don't use a ruler... I use the stitch-line on the corners to tell me how deep it needs to be. Then I fold the entire thing in half lengthwise. Then fold lengthwise again so it forms like a skinny long rectangle. Then I fold that in half cross-wise, then again, and one more time so it is as small as the pillowcase.

I learned what anatess taught. I also find it easy to have two people folding the blasted sheet.

I can't get them to work, so they pretty much end up wadded up in the linin closet....

The sad thing is that as a kid, I was really good at it for some reason. Then the skill faded away and I had to relearn everything.

After removing the sheet from the dryer (or clothes line) . . . remove the other fitted sheet from the bed, and place the clean one on the bed. Roll up the removed sheet and store in a laundry basket out of sight until it is time to change sheets, and then do the laundry. Repeat.

Viola! No folding of the impossible to fold sheets necessary! That's my guy-solution for the problem.

I looked this up on youtube. Seems do-able. But, I think I'm still going to have problems just because of the sheer size of the king or queen size sheets. Maybe for me, practice makes perfect?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had problems with folding fitted bottom sheets. Any other ideas out there?

Wad it up and put it in a closed closet. That works for me.

Honestly, I gave up trying to figure it out. I just fold it as best I can and decided to not worry about it anymore.

Since I work in a hotel and do laundry, I can say that the video posted is the best way to do it. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it but it does work well once you get it down.

Queen sheets are only six inches wider than a full sized set, so that's not a big deal, but for king size sheets, I find using a table very helpful.

BTW, the only difference between the standard sizes of sheets is the width. full, queen, and king sheets are typically the same length.

i sort of do it like the video, but, i fold the bottom up to meet the top first. tucking the corners together. then i take the corners in my right hand and tuck them in the corners in my left hand. lay it on the bed, and fold like she did the side and top ( where the corner now is) making a rectangle. i actually taught my grandma how to fold a fitted sheet because she could never get it. hahah! i wouldn't be able to handle them tossed in the linen closet.

i did read a neat tip on where to put your sheets if you don't have a linen closet, or are low on space for things like sheets. put them between your mattresses! i haven't tried it, but it sounds like a good idea to me!
