Hello everyone I am planning on building an Android app with the apostles in it and i need some help. What i need is a list of characteristic for each the living apostles. If you can contribute a list for each one or you can only contribute 1 for 1 apostle its ok anything would help. Its ok if apostles have the same characteristic. I just cant think of all of them on my own.

Example:

Holland - Emotional, Compassionate, Intelligent...

Any help would be great thank you.

Update- I have changed around my question for help, I have now come up with 12 sets of characteristics that i feel fit the 12 living apostles. The only problem is i dont know which apostle to put with what set of characteristic. If you all could please help me that would be great.

I have 2 examples

1. Emotional, compassionate, inteligent = Holland

2. Intelligent, direct, determined = Packard

Those are the 2 i have an i need help on these 10

3. Compassionate, forgiving, intelligent=?

4. Friendly, intelligent, compassionate =?

5. Determined, focused, intelligent=?

6. Decisive, intelligent, determined=?

7. Positive, humorous, respectful=?

8. Humorous, sincere, positive=?

9. Cheerful, positive, humorous=?

10. Caring, humorous, selfless=?

Paul : tireless traveler, theologian, indomitable worker, prickly, hot tempered, egoistic.

What does your app do... besides tell you adjectives that people on message boards suggested?

Thank you for your quick reply. I should have mentioned that I am looking for characteristics of the living apostles.

My app is going to be a comparison app.

So when you app informs the user that Elder Holland is Emotional, Kind, Intelligent, or Thrifty, Brave, and Handsome, is that to distinguish him from the others that are not Emotional, Kind and Intelligent?

Is it any different than the horoscope in the paper that informs the reader that they are courteous, adventurous and that good things are a coming their way?

I might be reading the reply's wrong but I thought I would get a lot more support from members of the church. But i guess just because the church as a whole has grasped the concept of social media it doesnt mean every member has. If your concerned that I am going to make light of the Apostles, dont be I just felt like it was time for me to show how proud I am to be a member of the only true church and my skills are in Android. For those that are trying to help me out thank you and for every body else I appreciate your input but I dont need it.

@skippy740 thanks for the link its great.

GRANDMOTHER'S SONG

Be courteous, kind and forgiving

Be gentle and peaceful each day

Be warm and human and grateful

And have a good thing to say.

Be thoughtful and trustful and childlike

Be witty and happy and wise

Be honest and love all your neighbors

Be obsequious, purple, and clairvoyant.

Be pompous, obese, and eat cactus

Be dull, and boring, and omnipresent

Criticize things you don't know about

Be oblong and have your knees removed.

Be tasteless, rude, and offensive

Live in a swamp and be three dimensional

Put a live chicken in your underwear

Get all excited and go to a yawning festival.

probbiethe1, when I was at BYU they had a class called "Teachings of the Living Prophets", and it seems to me that part of the course entailed brief biographical sketches regarding each of the current apostles.

You may want to call over to BYU's Department of Religious Education, find out who's teaching that course, explain what you're up to, and see if they have a handout or something that they might be willing to share with you.

That course might be a free online course. Check byu.edu for free online courses to see if that is one of them.

I find it rather amusing that you come onto a social medium (a message board) focused on sharing the gospel and accuse people of not having grasped the concept of social media.

I need the laugh button here! Vort, this brings back memories! On one of our family vacations we drove from SLC to Yellowstone, and then up to Canada, and then down through Glacier Natl'l Park, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, and Nevada. We took a number of cassette tapes with us, Steve Martin being one of them. By the time we were through with this long drive, I think all my children could sing and recite that quote of yours by memory. Ha ha.
