FrankJL Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 If this means we can get rid of Jim Jeffords in the Senate, I'm all for it. That guy is truly an order of fries short of a happy meal. Quote
Sugarbay Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 well, if they do this they would be absorbed eventually by the surrounding states as it seems to be human nature to conquer and acquire. Maple syrup would be a hot commodity. Quote

Dror Posted June 4, 2007 Author Report Posted June 4, 2007 My coworker was saying that if they do "succeed at seceding," we could remind them that all of their commercial activity with us would become a matter of international imports and exports, which would makes things a lot more expensive for them. 'Course, I'd worry about the price of maple syrup (I love that stuff). Quote
FrankJL Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Don't care about their maple syrup. My parents make about 50-70 gallons a year, from trees on their own property. Its actually pretty simple to make...plug a tree, and boil the sap down. Thats all it is. Quote

Guest the_big_picture Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 I don't believe that they will succeed nor will Texas...it's all pointless talk.Do not be so sure, its sprading all over the world. In the UK, the SNP have won a majority in the scottish voting. The Scottish National Party wants to seperate scottland from the rest of the UK. The bask movement in Spain is stronger than ever. the kurds in turkey are even starting to attack tourists to hurt Turkey. So its not only texas and Vermont. Its a world wide disease, complaining and wanting to seperate thinking it will solve problems. Spitting at centurys of wars creating the borders. uniting states et c. Quote
orrinjelo Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 "Hitlary" I don't think is a typo--supposed to look like Hitler. That is kinda funny, but not even close to the truth. Quote
