Vort Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 Adventure Time rocks, but it is the weirdest show I have ever watched. Quote
Crypto Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 The few episodes i've seen have been enjoyable. It is a bit strange. Quote
Vort Posted January 17, 2015 Author Report Posted January 17, 2015 It's quite a serial-oriented show, so it helps if you have seen past seasons and kind of know the characters. E.g. Princess Bubblegum is a control freak and a megalomaniac, but she's actually very kind and mostly sane. The characterizations are hilarious. The stories themselves are often dark and sometimes tragic, and some of the episodes are much more introspective (or just plain weird) than funny -- such as when Finn goes to find his father, and his father ends up ripping his arm off and a flower grows in its place. But on the whole it comes off very funny. Quote
Connie Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 Just watched the first episode on Netflix. That was seriously messed up. Quote
Vort Posted January 17, 2015 Author Report Posted January 17, 2015 The first season or two had many hilarious shows. However, they hadn't really gotten their "sea legs" yet, and the show was quite a bit more random than it is now (believe it or not), with one-off characters coming and going. Quote
classylady Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 The episodes that I've seen have been quite funny and I admit strange. My grandson (11 years old) insisted we send my daughter over in Korea a dvd of some Adventuretime episodes on it. I just got a letter from her in the mail, saying she and her husband enjoyed the cartoon, but couldn't keep up with all the different characters. I wish I could remember what episodes we sent her. Guest Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 My kids grew up on Adventure Time and that show that has the jingle "there's 104 days of summer vacation and school comes along just to end it". And of course, SpongeBob. Quote

The Rainicorn speaks Korean. I understand that in the Korean dub of Adventure Time, the Rainicorn speaks English. Blackmarch and classylady 2 Quote
