Never heard of it before, but my thought was along the lines of what Pam suggested. There must be enough demand for different types/cyber missionaries now = good thing. They are the contact point for Book of Mormon requests, chats on Mormon.org, and he maintains a (strictly missionary) presence on social media. I think they work in the Provo temple at times, too.
