How to prepare for an endowment?

I plan on getting endowed in a few months and I want to start preparing for it now.  What resources do you recommend to help me prepare to be endowed?

That's great! When I was going to go for the first time, my bishop told me to read the Pearl of Great Price.

A list of some resources:

-- The temple prep class

-- There's a mini-manual written by Elder Packer

-- Re-read Genesis 1-3, and Pearl of Great Price.

 

Other useful things

-- Reflect keenly on your testimony

-- The temple is extremely symbolic, so whatever helps you embrace symbolism.

This is a chapter from Hugh Nibley's "Temple and Cosmos" wherein he talks about the meaning of "temples." It's not necessarily about the LDS endowment, but I found it very interesting.

Might be better after being endowed than before. (Most people struggle with Nibley.)

All excellent ideas! The Oct 2010 issue of the Liahona is another great resource. (It's the "temples" issue.) The message from Elder Russell M. Nelson included there, "Preparing for the Temple" can be found in full in the March 2002 Ensign. Reading that and following his suggestions helped me prepare to take the temple prep class.

I used my seminary Old Testament manual to go along with my study of the Pearl of Great Price, actually writing down my answers. I found it helpful.

Allow me to add this talk to my recommendations. I've been listening to it on repeat this week because it's the base for my speaking assignment on Sunday. (Celestial math: preparing a 15-20 minute message on a 12 minute message.) After about the second time tonight, I started hearing some things that brought to mind temple memories, and now I'm wondering how I missed it the first ten times I played it this week. (Possibly because I'm attending the temple infrequently enough that I ought to spiritually re-prepare myself before going.)
