Sometimes you make me think I was born in the wrong country.  (The rest of the time, I'm pretty sure I was born on the wrong planet.)

I have tried to lure sisters over the border for Canada Day! So far no luck! The problem is passports for those in border cities.

The Detroit Temple actively recruits from Canada. Hmm.

How to entrap lds people and get them to come to Canada for a senior mission? Working on this!

I was looking at a webpage for senior missions and I fulfill the requirements for a senior mission in NZ! Wow! But 13 years to go! And my bishop would literally kill me!

Anyway, you definitely belong on this planet! If you were translated who would we look up to?

Oh good that you said Sometimes.  This is, of course, just the Facebook version... you know, brag to people about every positive thing and stay quiet about the ugly things.  Hah hah.  So, like, there's no AC in the building and it's a sweltering 90 degrees.  So you got all the windows open and just over the fence about 10 feet away are barking dogs, crowing roosters, screaming children, and neighbors talking to each other over their fences.  Then there's the road traffic on the other side.  And that's the background sound to the sacrament prayer while sweat is dripping down your chin and the stink of gym socks permeate the air.  Hah hah.

The Sunday before that - what do we want to do this week?  Family History!  Ok, when and where?  Sister so-and-so can't do this day, another one can't do that day... So only available is Monday.  So RS Pres says, we can't do Monday.  It's FHE day.  Let's bring our families then... it's Family History after all.  Done.  They had RS FHE the next day.

Oh, man, that'd be nice!

Here in my part of the world, people are too busy.  Especially the youth.  We had our YW Camp Fundraiser tonight at 5:30 because that's when the girls had available (looking at track and school schedules a month ago) not knowing that there was also a Scout Camporee thing this weekend.  Since it was a Spaghetti Feed, there went half of our hungry bellies.  Not even all of our YW showed up.  In branch council, we talk about doing activities, but it comes down to scheduling conflicts.  We didn't have any YW at our last baptism session because the school changed the dates of their musical.  (We had planned around it.)

It comes down to "Are we active in the Gospel or just busy in the Church?"  (Whoever said that at general conference; I'm bad with names.)

One nice thing about Europe, back then, was that you could fly into a cheap-airfare city, arrive in the afternoon, walk or take the subway to a train station, get on an overnight train to another city, sleep on the train, and arrive in the morning.  Stay there for a couple days, then repeat to the third city.  A few days later, return to the original city and spend the end of your trip there, then fly back.  (You can include as many cities as you want in such a plan.)  I did this twice (Prague > Vienna > Budapest > Prague; and Prague > Vienna > Berlin > Prague (might have Berlin and Vienna out of order on that one)).  Never any problem getting the train tickets, never any problem finding hotels on arrival.  Sleeping on the train saves you a night at a hotel, as well as the travel time, and it was cheap.

Those old steam trains can get mighty smokey at times.
