So, you'd be okay with a heaven that included people like Rev. Fred Phelps (Westboro Baptist Church)?

Ironically he has a better chance of getting to the Christian heaven then I do.

Or so he thinks. Unfortunately for him, he's wrong.

Has anyone read "The Great Divorce" by C.S Lewis?

Its a great allegorical story. The damned refuse to enter heaven because doing so would mean giving up their sins. These are highlighted as slowly consuming who they are. However it isn't the physical sins that are highlighted but the spiritual sins, like pride, unforgiveness, and resentment. Anyone can enter heaven if only they would surrender to God and give up the things that bind them. The things that make them bitter, resentful, envious and full of themselves. Those that enter heaven will look back on life and see it as the beginning of heaven and those that choose absence from God will be so consumed by that which they wouldn't give up that they look back and see their life on earth as the beggining of hell.

I don't know if I explained it very well but it is well worth a read.

I'm not going to judge either of your souls. However, IF Phelps is not a true believer, and yet claims to be ordained by God as a minister--and IF he is driving people away from God--then his reward would be far graver than the one who disagrees with the faiths in God he's been presented.

Those who try to keep one foot on the straight and narrow path, and one foot in the great and spacious building, will be torn in two, and Satan will get both pieces.

Are you saying we cannot serve two masters?

I am not sure what you mean by your comments - but I cannot imagine heaven as a desirable place that would exclude anyone that knowingly understands of such a heaven and desires to be there.

At the same time I am quite curious concerning those that claim to want to be in heaven and have no concept at all what it would be like to live in such a place.
